Omg this is indeed a sad story. A driver of a Peugeot J5 this morning sent the occupants in his bus to an early grave. The bus driver is said to have been in a hurry to cross the rail tracks and ignored the fast moving train which was blaring its horn. It happened at ‘Ikeja along’ (you know the express that leads to Oshodi if you are on the right and Iyana Ipaja if you are on the left).
Now this is another one law enforcement agencies need to monitor dearly. Okada riders and some Danfo drivers will still not stop despite the warning signal and even though some LASTMA officers are right in front of them.
Pix tnx to Laila Ikeji
Oh no! Sad much
ReplyDeleteMust somebody die everyday n dat country? AH
JumJum:- I wonder! In as much as I love 9ja I still find it abit hard to go home.... Sad news indeed n may d souls of the departed RIP!!!
DeleteLadun, *blaring its horn*. Yoruba geh like me.
ReplyDeleteOh My Days !!! Just a couple of mins of patience ...
ReplyDeletewww.gamugaza.blogspot.com
@IBK people die every where every day .. Its just d way they die in naija that baffles cos they die of little things that if precautions are taken none would have ...
ReplyDeletedo you know many people die of gun violence every day abroad?
www.gamugaza.blogspot.com
JumJum:- ma dear yes pple die everyday n everywhere buh its worst in 9ja. Today bomb blast,2mao a container has fallen on a car with 3pple, next 2mao a 18seater bus ran into a parked trailer I mean its just 3 much its just very sad God shuld just help us... Amen
DeleteIt must be suicide with a mission to take as many people along as possible? How does one ignore an oncoming train? Abi the bus broke down on the tracks ni? In which case, the passengers would have alighted. I don't get it. May their souls rest in peace
ReplyDeleteHow unfortunate. But even more unfortunate than this sad story is Ladun's english and choice of words.
ReplyDeleteSMH for Ladun's appalling sentence construction
Delete@Anon 08:09 "blaring its horn" is correct abi you no go sch?
ReplyDeleteVoltron, Ladun wrote "blaring its on" before we pointed it out
DeleteWinches and wizards on every road... Always pray ...
ReplyDeleteYou are one of Nigeria's problems!! Something like this that is obviously due to human error you blame witches and wizards. People who are too 'evil spirit' conscious like you don't see their mistakes, they always blame their misfortune on forces of darkness.
DeleteWhat could have been averted
ReplyDeletePoor them. RIP
ReplyDeleteso unfortunate
ReplyDeleteNothing works in this country of ours. Absolutely nothing
ReplyDeletea beg forget witches and wizards,it is us nigerians and our utter disregard for traffic laws and warnings..if lastma had arrested the bus driver i am sure even the passengers will be abusing them like some people on here were happy that a lastma man lost his life.
ReplyDeletethis is precisely why i was supporting the lastma man against the johnson lady, would it have been better for a lastma officer to arrest the bus driver now or for things to turn out this way?
a bad driver and a driver who disregards traffic laws is not only a danger to him/herself but also a danger to the passengers and people going about their business..
i hope the ms johnson's supporters can see the result
may this people r.i.p
JumJum:- my dear luca trust me lastma pple r useless in nigeria. Ok prob not all of them buh trust me most of them cos at the long run use a thousand naira to shock their mouth all will be settled. Most of the lastma officers don't work all they do is wait to catch some1 either passing the brt lane or doing somethng wrong to get settled with moni n close the case. Like I said we need a strong n brave leader to take the step that ghanian leader took then 9ja will be a lot better!!!
DeleteJumJum:- then again nigeria can be a lot better if an individual willing to be a leader can take exactly the huge n bold step some leader in ghana took to make ghana better then 9ja will be great. Pple will wanna fall in.... God bless Nigeria!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe our sins is much and this is some form of punishment from God. How about praying to God for forgiveness of sins.
ReplyDeleteoh no! This is so sad :(
ReplyDelete@jum jum
ReplyDeletehonestly now, would you prefer lastma caught these people in this bus and collected 1000naira from them or for the driver to disregard warnings and cross the rail tracks while a train is coming at full speed?
i totally agree with you that many of the lastma are wicked, but at the end of the day they won't extort money from an innocent person really its only that we naijas like sentiment.
for instance we complain about police checkpoint but the truth is that i have never given any bribe in naija if they can't find a single thing wrong with the car, most times they will find something no matter how small and then demand bribes to allow it
JumJum: yeah true buh then again its all about corruption in this country u r lucky to get away with not giving bribe I don't either wen am driving buh their r some useless officers that can be extremely annoying. God shuld just help us mehn that every1's prayer for this Nigeria
Delete@Lucbracee, i honestly think you have lost it completely. What has a woman that was guilty of a traffic offense being set up the take the fall for murder got to do with this????????
ReplyDeleteYour IQ level must be low. you sound like one of those emotional and passionate people that think with their head and not their heart.
What should her supporters done.....closed their eye and let her hang for murder she dint commit.
Come down from your high horse and reason with your head. God would not allow you to take the fall for something you dint do.
May the souls of the departed, lastma guy and the passengers of these vehicles continue to rest in perfect peace
Yinka Johnson'action directly and indirectly caused the death of the lastm mana!
DeleteWe too like drama and sentiments in this country!
If she had been on her lane, the lastma guy would still be alive! He toe have a family and dependants.
By the way:am no lastma fan!
@Anon 11:31 (Luca I see u) you always do this rubbish. Keep coming as anon so u can deceive pple dat some support ur skewed and degenerated sense of reasoning. Ode buruku. Yinka Johnson did not directly or indirectly kill that lastma officer. Useless worm in a mans body. Go drink acid or chew on razor if the fact that SHE IS NOW FREE is killing you too much.
DeleteBut thinking with the head is better than thinking with the heart so his IQ must be high. He was in a "hurry" and see how it ended. Why are people on the roads always in a hurry and this happens everywhere. Most times it leads to disasters. Also are there no gates to stop cars from crossing while a train is on its way? I bet not. Maximus is resting and i've noticed Prof X too.
ReplyDeleteAnonyms 10;31 ur prolly new on this blog or mayb u 4got maximus once announced she was preggers. Her absence is prolly coz she don born or is abt to born. #poko
DeleteSo sad. For constructn of customised, rectangular and other shapes of swimming pool pls call 08176328376
ReplyDeleteWhat has Luca done again
ReplyDeleteONOME says......
ReplyDeleteI beg u,wetin Luca do this time around?Biko I know say at times he dey talk sosososososoriso(just made that up btw) but he is actually correct with his analysis on this topic.
Life in Nigeria has no value.Fact.
People die in Nigeria from things that could have been avoided.Fact.
Nothing is usually learnt from some of this incidences so they end up repeating and re-repeating themselves(insanity is expecting a different outcome with the same processes).Fact.
I urge you all to google kechi okwuchi and see what sosoliso did to that poor girl.Nothing has changed since then, the same old rundown planes are still being used and caused another calamity in June of this year.
Which way Nigeria?
May the souls of the departed rest in peace, amen.
Lucabracee pls shut up,u are 2 fool of yourself,u believe u know everything, dumb ass.
ReplyDeleteIt's "Full of urself" not "Fool of urself". Before you rant, know what you are ranting about.
Delete@anon 11;21
ReplyDeletei saw that as well and i was lmao till tears came na really fool of yourself lol
@anon 10;12
ReplyDeleteyou that you are reasoning with your heart maybe you should engage your head so you ll realise that the connection between the case are as follows
1.both your madam and the driver of this bus both ignored and blatantly contravened traffic laws as a result one driver killed several innocent passengers the other the jury is still out and case on going as to her complicity in the death of a lastma official
2.this incident just like your madam's highlights the fact that no matter how bad and useless lastma officers are, collecting bribes and such its still prefferable to have them inject some sanity into the crazy drivers we have in lagos than getting this kind of results.
what do you think the dead occupants of this bus will be saying right now if they had an opportunity of either lastma detaining the bus or allowing them go and the driver doing this again?
i knoow gamuzaga but naija own lets @ least v one good news in btw these deaths, haha like we v discovered our own usain bolt and so on, must t be sad sad everyday? i tire o, deaths too many n d land
ReplyDelete@anon 10;31
ReplyDeletei tire o lool
@?? said
ReplyDeleteme too i don't know o lool
@onome
ReplyDeletei am joining you to ask the same question what has luca done again oooooo
i know i dey over yarn at times truly lol but to be honest I'm taking this one personal.
we might curse lastma from now till next year but lagosians are the worst drivers ever..look at how many promising naija celebs died over the years as a result of ignoring or flouting traffic laws?
if dagrin,mc loph, and that awesome comedian were living in a place like uk or usa they probably won't be dead now maybe they ll have a dui charge or points on their licence because the traffic police would have flagged them down
for me i believe that as bad as lastma are they are still a necessary evil and i ll prefer them than not having any traffic official at all or leaving it to the police
JumJum:- yes I agree with u dear. Lagosians r the worst drivers have eva known I could be rough a driver a few times so I know what u talking about.
DeleteNOTE:- pls n pls no 1 shuld insult me.
JumJum:-*a rough driver I meant
DeleteWow; all those innocent passengers gone! May their souls rest in perfect peace!
ReplyDeleteIt seems some people just wait for Luca to comment and then pounce. Well, he gave a constructive and objective view on the dead lastma official/Johnson/danfo driver case. The events of that day was started by the traffic infraction.
ReplyDeleteNo one intended for a man to be killed but all I deduce from Luca's analysis and all other objective views is that we should all follow the law, do what we can to prevent ill-fated and unnecessary accidents such as this one and that of the dead lastma official.
@ janded
ReplyDeleteyou even get time
im not even bothering to rationalise or explain anything to them cause its obvious from the get go that irrespective of how many lastma officials died all madam johnson's voltrons are after is for her to be released
Then let its slide. Stop coming back to comment yet say u don't have time.mshwwwww
DeleteThis is the second time this is happening since on saturday....what's going on?
ReplyDeleteWONU: really sad RIP
ReplyDeleteLadun i do love ur blog bt i got a few advice 4 u on ways to make ur blog more intersting.
