Lagos State Gov. Donates N4.5m to Ngozi Nwosu

Ngozi, Mr Seun and Lagos State officials
This evening Lagos State Governor Babtunde Raji Fashola donated N4.5m to actress Ngozi Nwosu who needs N6m for a kidney transplant in the UK. She now has N6.5m in total. What a way to end 2012. Thank you BRF.

  9. The irony of it all. You are thanking BRF for what exactly? It is due to his incompetence that the state lacks adequate medical facilities, after how many years as the governor. Besides, it is taxpayers money, not his. Because he misappropriates and mismanages the coffers with his godfather doesn't make the money his. Please get educated.

    4. Actually, the poster is right. The taxpayers should be thanked. Fashola did not come to her rescue. Question is, is she the only person in the state in need of such assistance for health care? NO! Why can't he just provide adequate health care for all instead of embezzling state's funds. But I guess this is good for publicity. His duty is to serve the people of Lagos State, not be compared to other governors. Not until it comes close to home do we understand the hopelessness of these leaders. So instead of everyone being self-centred, why not think for the populace at large. Then you will know who is actually insensitive

    6. You are an ignorant fool. How is Fashola responsible for the lack of medical infrastructures in the whole country? Its on record that the Lagos Government hospitals have improved in Fashola's time.

Its Taxpayers money? And so? How about the Niger Delta Governors and their stupendous oil wealth? Why didn't they help?

Specialist medical treatment is expensive all over the world. You pay to get a transplant even in America. Its never free

    7. Pls leave BRF alone. What has Jonathan done with tax payers money? Haters. Mshewwwww.

    9. Ok oh! THANK YOU taxpayers!!!!!! Pls Fasola has tried. Even some well developed countries from time to time get exported healthcare so what r we talking about? As much as I think he should improve our own medical facilities.....it is not entirely up to him cos he is not the president. Let's give honor to whom it is due n not be over critical. P.s: where r all them s/east governors @ a time like dis? I honestly don't think any one of dese govts would help a Yoruba actress if the reverse was d case.........
      Just saying.

Well done to BRF. Some governors will not even bat an eyelid at this type of thing. What state is she from? Obviously one of the Igbo states and we didn't hear from her governor. The money in government is too much. They are embezzling it but let them work and let them spread the wealth.

  27. This is not there first time taking up the duties of the useless PDP federal government. The idiot talking about taxpayer's money, is the federal government not controlling taxpayer's money and use it for there own personal greedy use? So people should appreciate who show concern

  35. Seems most people here can't reason logically. I didn't say it was bad giving her taxpayers money but because I attacked Fashola, all objectivity got binned. Blind loyalty to idiots like Fashola is the reason why she was in that state in the first place. Isn't it a shame that she had to beg for aid in the first place? Did they have to have a photo session to make it seem like the state government was doing her a favour? When in reality, it is her right to be provided adequate healthcare. She is a taxpayer too. How myopic are we to not realise that this is a tasteless and disgraceful publicity stunt? I am certain there are thousands of ill people in the state not getting any attention.

Anyway, this has nothing to do with a particular party. They are all incompetent. The day we all agree on that will be the day Nigeria will change for the better. In the meantime, they will keep playing with our intelligence because they know that though most Nigerians are educated, only a few are deeply analytical.

Lagos state will start giving free organ transplants when It starts deducting such huge taxes from the >10% population that pay tax

  39. Ladun and her illiterate followers. Wait till you find yourself in the same situation and see what your beloved Fashola does. Health care in the state, is the duty of the state government not PDP. PDP is useless, we know but this has nothing to do with them. Stupid political loyalty has brought us to this stage. Abegi, let's call a spade a spade jare. They are all crooks, wake up, let them use our money appropriately and the likes of Nwosu will walk into a first grade hospital and won't have to go through the humiliation of begging for money.

  40. I weep for my country. Someone makes sense but people are so blinded by sentiments they curse him/her.

The day Naija pple face their reality, that's the day naija will get better. The very same things we accuse politicians of is the same thing we tolerate.

What of the sick little children in the slums of lagos, who will take care of them? What of the poor market woman selling pepper that has cancer, who will take care of her.

Society cannot truly progress with selective help. Create better facilities for your indigenes and you wouldn't need to shell out big money for them to leave the country.

It's easy to sing fasholas praises, but think of the poor nameless, faceless people that cannot get help.
