The Turkish president appeared to prevent a suicide on Christmas Day after he was filmed persuading a man to get back from the edge of a bridge.  The unnamed man was thought to be preparing to jump when Recep Erdogan's motorcade was passing over the 211ft-tall structure, which links Europe with Asia, after Friday prayers.

Dencia Still Can’t Over Her Late Brother

I can’t relate, because I have never lost someone young, but I know young ladies tend to be like this. I lost my grandpa 4years ago, (the first close person that I will ever loose, and the truth is, I still cry when I realize he is no longer here). Dencia lost her elder brother recently, she broke the news on instagram and people consoled her, fast forward now, she has made it almost a daily post, where she talks about how she can’t get over him, how she thinks she can’t ever stop crying and how her world is now apart without him. It’s really really sad. Please let’s say a word of prayer for her. The Lord is her strength.

N.B If you are an emotional person please don’t read the tribute below. Cus it might just make you cry this early morning.

Ogun Community Where Over 10,000 Residents Share Only One Hospital Bed

It's a long read, but the headline says it all.

Bose Tetede was worn out by the time she arrived home that evening. A hectic four-hour trek to and fro her home in Imule, a small agrarian community with over 3000 residents in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, and Itaope, a border town in neighbouring Republic of Benin, had taken its toll on her. The sound of her heavy breathing summarises the agonising experience.

Tetede had left home at about 7:00am last Monday in search of help for her sick twins – Taiwo, a boy and Kehinde, a girl. The toddlers had been struck by malaria and so needed urgent attention to get back to their old, playful selves. With one child strapped to her back and another carried over her shoulder, the young mother pounded the bumpy, dusty countryside roads for more than two hours before finally arriving in the Beninese town where her children were attended to promptly and given drugs at the cost of N4000. But enduring another two-hour trek back to Imule under the torrid sun with the weight of the ailing twins resting on her frail frame was more than Tetede could bear. On the evening our correspondent came across her, she could barely move her body.

Kanu: Dialogue Is The Solution Not Military Approach- kukah

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, has said the way the Federal Government is going about the matter of Radio Biafra Founder, Nnamdi Kanu is not the right way and a Military/Judiciary approach to this matter, won’t help either. Kukah emphasized that we are in a democratic era and so, the most appropriate thing to do his to dialogue. The Bishop who spoke with Punch said;

“A military and judicial approach would not work. We are in a democracy where dialogue, diplomacy and patience are the hallmarks of good leadership. The Federal Government should open a backdoor channel to get Kanu to renounce alleged hate speeches and violence.

“My position on Kanu is straightforward. I am not in any way saying that he is innocent but in order to avoid upheavals and tension, the government should settle through engagement. One of the parties has to trade something for something else. We are not in a military regime. Dialogue is the solution.”

He also spoke briefly on the recent Shiites/Army clash in Zaria and said he was shocked that the President didn't declare a National mourning despite the numbers of those that died.

Sri Lankan Maid Spared Stoning Sentence In Saudi Arabia

A Saudi Arabian court has commuted the death-by-stoning sentence passed on a Sri Lankan maid convicted of adultery, Sri Lanka's government said on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old married mother of two would now serve a "short jail sentence", said Harsha de Silva, Sri Lanka's deputy foreign minister, without giving any further details on the exact amount of time that she would have to remain behind bars.

"We have succeeded in getting the death sentence overturned. Our concern was to make sure that the original sentence was not carried out," de Silva told reporters in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo.

"The government of Sri Lanka wishes to acknowledge and appreciate the good offices of the Saudi authorities. The sympathy, understanding and the concern expressed, and assistance extended by many other parties is also noted and deeply appreciated."
