Money Should Not Be Before Treatment, Toke Makinwa Addresses Poor Health Care In Nigeria

The OAP was at a particular hospital yesterday where she had gone for treatment and was not so pleased with the way they treated her considering she was a patient and needed help. An angry Toke who says she hates to put people on blast said she has no choice than to narrate her experience to others and concluded she now knows why people hate to visit hospitals and result to self-medication. Her tweets after the cut.

  9. If you don't want to pay for your health care before being seen by a private medical practitioner, go to your local General hospital and that is if they will even see your sorry ass before you are attended to.

This lady think that private hospitals should be run like charity organizations or what?

When you attend social shows, don't you pay before you enter and start enjoying those shows?

When you go to see P-square, you pay him before you listen and watch his show, now for you to pay your own doctor that takes care of your own sorry ass (before you are seen) so that his or her clinic would not go into bankruptcy, that one is a problem. No be so?

May be, you should ask the likes of P-square to start taking care of your health as well, since you see no qualms in paying them before enjoying their services.

Only emergency cases need be attended to before payment and even in such cases, only paltry resuscitative measures need be given just to maintain life. If after this, the patient cannot pay, that patient need to and should be summarily discharged with a referral note addressed to whom ever it may concern. If the patient refuses to leave the clinic/hospital, patient should be forced to leave.
He or she should be kicked out if need, so that those you can afford to access Heath care services can have opportunity to do so.

If you cannot pay for your injections, why go near those that will give you the injections?

If you have to wait for an hour for an injection, covered with your bling bling and other body accessories just because of no money on you, maybe you need to fling those bling bling and that designer' bag you are carrying, in order to get money to pay for your injections.

Toke, don't you think so, or are those bling bling including that designer' bag on you more important than your own health?

    2. Nope, but it irritate me when people see no problem in paying before they can start watching their favorite musicians perform and also see no problem in spraying dollars on these musicians and at owanbe parties but see it as a big deal when asked to pay before they are seen in the private clinics or hospitals so that those private organizations can be efficiently run.

These people acts as if doctors are just there to give them free services.
They acts as if it cost nothing to set up, run and maintain private hospitals.

If this is how they feel, they might as well ask their favourite musicians to start taking care of their health need as well. That is my point.

Toke Makinwa is just a free loader who wants to be accessing health services free of charge and at the same time cruising around town with all sorts of fancy cars, expensive clothes, expensive body accessories and expensive designer' bags.

Is this right? Is this fair on doctors?
Anyone that think that Toke is right must be a FREELOADER like her, and you should all keep away from private hospitals.

Let those who can afford medical treatment and ready to pay for them when asked, attend the private hospitals. You got that! I hope so.

    4. Negligence my foot.

How could she have been writing about negligence?

Does Toke Makinwa even know the true meaning of negligence?

If she does, how could she be equating the idea of her being directed to regularize and update her bills at the account dept of the same hospital after being initially seen and before taking her injections, to not being seen when she deserves to be seen by a doctor?

She consulted the doctor, and when it was time for her to take her injections and her medications from the pharmacy and cruise out, they asked her to pay up and now she is angry, bitter and had the effrontery to be airing it for all to hear.

So, Toke Makinwa just wanted to roll her skinny ass into the clinic, see the doctor, take medications from the pharmacy and then roll her skinny ass out of the clinic without dropping a dime for the cashier because she is queen of England despite her fake britico accent or what?

So the doctors took oaths to be providing free services and be saving lives on empty stomach with no salaries for themselves, for the nurses and for all the other workers in their clinics and if they can't do that, it is nothing but Negligence according to the books of Toke Makinwa? No be so?

Toke need to be writing intelligently about serious issues and not throwing tantrums when asked to pay for an essential service she has already started receiving.

Guys, it was not as if Toke was seriously bleeding or at the point of death from any cause and she was not being given first aid because she couldn't pay up.
She was pissed that those guys at the hospital had the nerves to ask her to pay up.

Toke Makinwa and those supporting her need to find warm seats and sit their asses on them, hopefully by then, enough blood would have rushed to their brain tissues for them to be making sense. Right now, they ain't just making sense.
