Gunmen Kidnap Kaduna Lawmaker, Demand N70m Ransom

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a sitting member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon Ibrahim Samaila representing Tudun Wada Constituency.

The kidnappers have also contacted the immediate family of the legislator, demanding a N70m ransom.

The Kaduna Police Command Spokesman, ASP Aliyu Usman has also confirmed the incident, saying that, the technical and anti-kidnapping squad of the command were already on the trail of the kidnappers.

Hon Samaila who is the Chairman House Committee on Education was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday around Abakpa community in Kaduna North Local Government area of the state.

According to eye witness account, “the kidnappers came in a Sienna Car and within few seconds their other gang joined them and whisked the lawmaker away. The kidnappers armed with sophisticated weapons, even shot a pure water distributing van which was passing-by, thinking that, he wanted to block them.”
