Gov. Ajimobi To Stop Funding Tertiary Institutions In Oyo

In a statement by Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Oyo State, Abimbola Adekanmbi sent to the Vice Chancellor, rectors and provosts of institutions in the state,  disclosed that Governor Abiola Ajimobi has stopped government subventions to all seven tertiary institutions in the state including the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso which is jointly owned by the state and Osun State.

This came as the Osun State got victory over the plan by the Oyo State government to take over the jointly owned LAUTECH, since Supreme Court had already ruled that the institution remained a joint property of both states.

The letter which emanated from the office of the Commissioner for Budget and Finance, Secretariat, Ibadan was sent to the institutions last week.

  1. This is the practice in ogun state... It's really bad because the parents and the students are made to pay high fees

  2. If he stops who will help him fund state universities
