Angelina Jolie and the couple's six children were interviewed by two FBI agents on Tuesday, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Law enforcement sources told the website that the agents spent more than three hours at Jolie's Malibu home as part of a 'fact-finding' mission.
It seems that officials not only wanted a 'step-by-step' account of what happened but are also trying to pinpoint exactly where the private jet was when the incident occurred.
The former power couple announced their split four weeks ago after Jolie filed for divorce on September 19 with the actress, 41, pushing for sole custody of the children.
Pitt denies the claims and is seeking joint custody of the kids - Maddox, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, ten, and twins Vivienne and Knox, eight.
