Plus size store owner Leila Palma (right), 32, had travelled more than 10,000 miles from Melbourne, Australia, and spent £1,500 to attend the event.
Fraud police are to investigate the sudden cancellation of an awards ceremony for plus-size women after guests were left out of pocket. Organiser Linda Koch called off the event on social media just 24 hours before it was due to take place and instantly closed down her social media accounts.
But after the announcement, the event's website was also taken down and angry guests have been desperately trying to get hold of her.
Many guests have now reported the cancellation with City of London Police's specialist fraud team, who are now investigating the complaints.
On Friday, a statement was finally released on their Facebook page ensuring 'all creditors and ticketholders will be contacted individually over the coming weeks'.
Tickets for the event, which was in its fourth year and due to be held at Porchester Hall in London on Saturday, November 19, had been on sale over the past few months for £99 and just two days before the event were still being pushed on their Facebook site.
