Graphic Photos: Police Allegedly Shoot Commercial Bus Driver Dead Over N50 Bribe

According to reports, a commercial driver has allegedly been shot dead by policemen in Ekiti. Reports say the commercial driver was moving along Ayegbaju-Ifaki road with passengers in his bus when they met a road block. The policemen allegedly demanded N50 bribe from him, but he refused and drove on. They were said to have ran after the bus and fired some shots. One of the bullets hit the driver and he lost control of the bus. He died on the spot, while the bus somersaulted several times, leaving many passengers injured. Transgender Man Becomes First To Give Birth While Living As BOTH Sexes

A transgender man has given birth to a healthy baby five years after having his first child as a woman.

Kaci Sullivan, 30, has become the first person in the world to give birth while living as both genders, four years after he began the transition from female to male.

The business student conceived with partner Steven, 27, after a break from taking male hormones.

He underwent a C-section following seven days in labour before welcoming Phoenix, who weighs a healthy 8lbs 9oz.

R.Kelly's Burglary Suspect Turns Himself In

The guy who cops think is responsible for ransacking R. Kelly's Atlanta homes has given himself up.
According to Johns Creek Police Department, Alfonso Walker turned himself in Monday on charges stemming from Kelly's burglaries over Thanksgiving weekend.

He was booked on two counts of burglary, two counts of theft by taking and two counts of theft by deception.

Recall an arrest warrant was issued for Walker after he told them he'd turn himself in last Tuesday and didn't. Cops say they were told he'd hired people to clean out the cribs and sell all of the singer's stuff. Kelly said Walker was just a part-time employee.

Meanwhile, Kels released a statement thanking Johns Creek PD and fans for their support over the incident.

A jealous husband 'cut off both his wife's hands' in a fit of rage after he accused her of having an affair.

Doctors have managed to save one of the woman's hands during emergency surgery but have not been able to re-attach the other.

Dmitry Grachyov, 26, launched the medieval-style attack at his wife Margarita after he accused her of being unfaithful.

He took the mother of his two children to a forest, says reports in Moscow, and used an axe to hit her fingers as he tried to torture her in for confessing.

“Bïeryoncé” pilsner, which was made in her honor, the brewery owner said Tuesday.

A 50-year-old man from Maigoge Village in Marita local government area of Niger State has confessed to have killed his wife, Auta Tanko because she was starving him of food.

Bamaiyi Tanko said out of anger of being starved after five days without food, he killed his wife with a cutlass while they were arguing.

According to him, “My wife was fondof not giving me food in time and when I complain she will abuse me. She never gave me food each time I demand for it.

“She even asked my 10-year-old daughter to abuse me because I’m asking for food and when I want to correct the girl she will abuse me.”

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has ruled out the possibility of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) coming back to power in the state.

Ex- Bayelsa Commissioner For Trade & Investment Murdered At Home

Unidentified gunmen have killed a former Commissioner for Trade and Investment in Bayelsa State, Mr. Ayakeme Masa.

It was gathered that Masa was killed in his house in Yenagoa, the state capital, on Sunday morning at about 6.30am in the presence of his wife.

It was learnt that a family member opened the door for the gunmen unknown to him that they were hoodlums on an evil mission.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said when they entered the living room, the assailants exchanged hot words with their victim and later shot him.

2019: PDP Begins Search For Candidate

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chiefs are to raise a search panel for a credible presidential candidate, a source said yesterday.

A senior party official, who pleaded not to be named, said the party had decided to scout for a “sellable” candidate who can match President Muhammadu Buhari, who is believed to be interested in a second term.

“We have made mistakes in the past. We violated zoning and we paid dearly for it. We are considering going for a presidential candidate, who will withstand the predictable propaganda of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government. We want to get it right. If we want to win, we must get a better candidate; a candidate that is better than what the APC will offer because Nigerians will compare and contrast,” the source said.

FIFA Fines Nigeria, Cancels Winning Match

FIFA on Tuesday clamped down the Nigeria Football Federation with a whoopy 6,000 Swiss Francs (about N2,177,280) fine and also cancelled Super Eagles 3-0 victory in a Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Algeria.

The World football governing body through its disciplinary committee in a statement on Tuesday said Nigeria fielded Shehu Abdullahi who was ineligible for the 10 November 2017 qualifier against Algeria.

FIFA explained that Abdullahi Shehu failed to serve the automatic one-match suspension imposed on him as a result of receiving a caution in two separate matches of the same competition.

Buhari To Commission Special School In Nasarawa

Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko Al-makura, said on Tuesday one of the projects President Muhammadu Buhari would commission during his visit to the state is a Comprehensive Special School in Lafia.

According to him, the President will also flag off the terminal building of the cargo airport in Lafia which is at 60 percent completion.

The governor said the school is a fulfillment of President Buhari’s promise to people with disability during his 2011 presidential campaign under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

Two Siblings Die In Lagos Fire

A two-month-old baby and his two-year-old brother, Kenneth were Monday night killed after fire razed their makeshift home at Ifako in Lagos.

The incident occurred around 10:30pm, at 31, Shosanya Street, off Sholuyi Bus Stop, Gbagada.

It was gathered that the children’s mother left a lit candle and stepped out to buy something when fire gutted the shanty.

Sources said the children might have suffocated to death because the outbreak was not severe.

Appeal Court Sends Saraki BACK To CCT

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on Tuesday sent Bukola Saraki back to the Code of Conduct Tribunal to face charges of false declaration of asset.

The Nigerian government had appealed the acquittal of the Senate President earlier this year by the CCT.

The tribunal had dismissed all 18-count allegations of false and anticipatory declaration of asset by Mr. Saraki.

At its sitting today, the Court of Appeal panel ruled that Mr. Saraki did not sufficiently answer three of the charges.

U.S, Russian Banks Lose $10m To Hackers

A previously undetected group of Russian-language hackers silently stole nearly $10 million from at least 18 mostly U.S. and Russian banks in recent years by targeting interbank transfer systems, a Moscow-based security firm said on Monday.

Group-IB warned that the attacks, which began 18 months ago and allow money to be robbed from bank automated teller machines (ATMs), appear to be ongoing and that banks in Latin America could be targeted next.

The first attack occurred in the spring of 2016 against First Data’s “STAR” network, the largest U.S. bank transfer messaging system connecting ATMs at more than 5,000 organisations, Group-IB researchers said in a 36-page report.

Man Who Jumped On Stage During Britney Spear’s Performance Is Charged

The guy who bum-rushed Britney Spears on her Las Vegas stage now has two charges hanging over his head, and he's one step closer to a trial.

According to court documents, Jesse Webb's trial is scheduled to begin January 18. He's been charged with one count of battery and one count of disorderly conduct.

Recall Webb was arrested in August after he jumped on stage, and briefly walked around before Brit's security guards and dancers took him down. Cops say Webb kicked one of the guards during the incident which would be the battery charge.

Webb's actions were also caught on camera.

Woman Arrested For Smoking,Threatening To Kill Fellow Passengers On Plane

A woman flying from Portland to Sacramento was arrested after she threatened to kill everyone aboard the flight.

Valerie Curbelo of Sandy, Ore., was taken into custody on Saturday for making threats on a Southwest Airlines flight.

In a video taken by another passenger, the 24-year-old woman is seen berating a flight attendant while grabbing her belongings.

"I have a destination for this. I have a destination for myself and I need to go there," she yells. "I swear, if you don't f---ing land, I will f---ing, kill everybody on this f---ing plane. I will kill everybody on this f---ing plane."

‘Ikoyi Whistle-Blower To Get N421m This Week’

The whistle-blower that provided  information leading to  the recovery of the N13bn Ikoyi loot will receive his commission this week, investigations have revealed.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, had two weeks ago said that the Federal Government would pay the sum of  N421,330,595 to only one individual identified for providing information that led to the recovery of the alleged stolen funds hidden in a flat at the Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Adeosun had said N421,330,595 would be paid to the legitimate informant.

A senior official in government told our correspondent that a directive for the release of the fund had been issued by Adeosun.

Baby, Mother Detained In Ondo Hospital Over N40,000 Bill [Photos]

An Okada rider, Oladapo Omotoso, narrated yesterday how his newborn baby Temitope Omotoso, and her mother, Taiwo, were “detained” for 22 days by the Management of the Ondo state-owned Mother and Child Hospital for his inability to offset N40,000 hospital bill.

Baby Temitope was given birth to in the government hospital, solely for the delivery of babies and taking care of children under age five, through caesarean operation.

Findings by Vanguard in Akure, the state capital, showed that the baby and the mother were detained following the inability of the breadwinner of the family, Oladapo to offset the money billed them for the operation.

New York Bus Terminal Attack: Suspect Says He Carried Out The Act Because Of US Attacks On IS

The suspect being held after an attempted terror attack at New York City's main bus terminal has said it was in retaliation for US attacks on so-called Islamic State.

Akayed Ullah, a 27-year-old Bangladeshi immigrant, was injured when a "low-tech explosive device" went off at the Port Authority terminal in Manhattan.

Police say Mr Ullah chose the location because of its Christmas posters.

Three other people suffered minor wounds in the explosion on Monday.

Train Kills Five Elephants In India

Five wild elephants, including a pregnant female, were killed after being hit by a speeding train near Balipara in central Assam in the wee hours of Sunday.

The incident took place around 1.15am near Bamgaon tea estate, nearly 210 km from Guwahati, when the herd crossing the train track in search of food was hit by the 15617 Guwahati-Naharlagun Donyi Polo Express.

All the five elephants died on the spot. A stillborn calf was later extracted from the pregnant female.

Saudi Arabia Lifts 35-Year-Old Cinema Ban

A 35-year-old ban on cinemas in Saudi Arabia has been overturned as the socially conservative kingdom’s efforts to liberalize gain pace, with commercial movie theaters expected to open as soon as next March. A resolution allowing the Culture Ministry to license commercial cinemas has been passed, and the licensing process started for new theaters.

Cinemas were banned in the 1980s as they were considered a threat to religious and cultural identity. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (pictured) has been driving a program of social and economic reforms under the Vision 2030 banner, and rescinding the cinema ban is part of that drive. Saudi authorities were bullish on the long-term prospects for the cinema business in in the kingdom and said they anticipated 300 movie theaters opening, and there being 2,000 screens by 2030.

An artisan on Waidi Ogunseye Street, Meiran, Lagos State, Kingsley Oriaku, has owned up to selling one of his five children, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, Chimamada Oriaku.

He also confessed to kidnapping his neighbour’s seven-year-old son, Gabriel Yanga, barely two months after he moved to the area, adding that he used the N310,000 he realised from the sale of the two children for the burial of his father-in-law.

Boko Haram: Nigeria Air Force Reorganises Operations, Trains First Female Fighter Pilot

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has reorganised its air combat structure in the North-east for increased operational efficiency.

The Chief of the Air Staff, CAS, Sadique Abubakar, disclosed this during his opening remarks at the CAS Fourth Quarter Conference, which commenced at NAF Headquarters on Monday.

According to the CAS, the Air Component Commander has been replaced with a Commander Air Task Force (CATF), an Air Vice Marshal (a 2-star General), who reports to the overall Theatre Commander.

The new CATF is Idi Lubo, who was serving as the Air Component Commander. The NAF has also appointed three Divisional Air Liaison Officers (DALO) for the 3 Armoured Division as well as 7 and 8 Divisions of the Nigerian Army in the North-east. The whole idea is to ensure a better coordination of air efforts with ground operations.

Stop Blaming Nigerian Governments For Unemployment – Saraki

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Monday urged Nigerian youth and the people in general to quit blaming government or its programmes for the high level of unemployment in the country.

Speaking at a one-day public hearing on youth development and empowerment at the National Assembly in Abuja, he acknowledged that there is a crisis surrounding the subject in Nigeria and called on the federal government, National Assembly, private sector and civil society to focus attention on addressing it.

However, Mr. Saraki said it will do the country no good to continue to cast blame on any individual or administration for the high unemployment rate in Nigeria.

New Army General Assumes Duty To Lead Boko Haram War

Rogers Nicholas, the newly-posted Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, has called on the Boko Haram insurgents to lay down their arms and embrace peace.

Mr. Nicholas, a major general, made the call at his maiden media interactive session on Monday in Maiduguri.

He said that the call was imperative to encourage remnants of the Boko Haram insurgents to surrender in order to end insurgency and guarantee lasting peace in the region.

“We have determined and courageous soldiers to crush the terrorists and bring peace to the North-east. I call on the insurgents in the bush to surrender to the Nigerian Government and embrace peace,” he said.

Edo Governor Appoints 19 Women As Aides

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has appointed 18 women in the state as his special assistants on gender matters.

Mr. Obaseki also appointed one woman, Efosa Uyigue, as a special adviser, also on gender matter.

The 19 women were sworn-in on Monday at the Government House, Benin City, making it the largest number of political appointments made in a single day by any governor in the state.

The special assistants are to report to the special adviser who in turn reports to Mr. Obaseki.

SARS Officer Gruesomely Tortures Man To Death In Ondo State [Photo]

Seun Ayoade, 37, was tortured to death by an officer the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Ondo State Police Command, SaharaReporters has learned.

Mr. Ayoade was arrested after SARS officers raided his home in Akure on October 12, 2017, following unfounded reports that he was a member of a robbery gang.

Ojelabi Oladele, a police inspector with the SARS office in Akure, was said to have led the arrest of Mr. Ayoade before placing him in detention and torturing him to death.

Mr. Oladele then dumped Mr. Ayoade’s corpse at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Akure and lied to attendants that the deceased died as a result of gunshot wound he sustained during a duel with the police.

Osun Spends N15bn To Empower 350,000 Women, Youth – Aregbesola

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun said on Monday that his administration spent N15 billion to empower 350,000 women and youth by training them in different vocations in the last seven years.

Mr. Aregbesola made this known in Ede at the closing ceremony of the orientation course for Batch B Stream 1, 2017 National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members in the state.

The governor was represented by his deputy, Grace Titi-Laoye.

“It is worthy to note that this administration’s most important engagement is to get every able-bodied person in the state to work and we have provided every needed incentive for this.

“As at the last count, 350,000 people, especially women and youth, have been empowered to the tune of N15 billion and we have not stopped,” he said.
