Glo Rcok ‘N’ Rule concert which has been on for quite sometime at different university campuses, turned out bloody last week Saturday, 3rd of March at Abeokuta, Ogun State. Though this won’t be the first time the Rock ‘N’ Rule concert will go wild, as they mostly lack good security. On this faithful day however, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta a battle of gun seemed to have occurred between the security men at the concert and some few area boys a source stated. According to the source, a young man was gunned down after the murderer forcefully snatched a gun from one of the Mopol’s on guard. Immediately after that, some of the security men were seen taken to their heels as few of them who were brave stood back and attacked the cult boys who were many. In the process, one of Sound Sultan’s backup singers got shot in his arm, while his friends tried to rush him to hospital. Click read more to continue reading....
Terry G who happens to be one of the major artistes of the night was performing before the cult boys launched attack. He was quickly whisked away in order to prevent another calamity as bullets were already flying in the air. ‘It was indeed a deadly situation; most of us had to run for our lives. We thought we were coming to have fun, not knowing it would turn out to be a war zone’, a member of the crowd stated.
Parents are however saying the various campus shows of GLO should be scrapped or at most, have adequate security. ‘We have sent our children to the university to study, not for fun and killings’, an angry parent said.
Amongst the artistes who were at the concert are Wande Coal, Terry G, Sound Sultan, Goldie and Davido. While Gbenga Adeyinka anchored the show.
This is sad. Glo should know better by getting enough securities for their shows instead of lazy mopols.Hiss, with all the money Nigerians spend in patronizing them.
ReplyDeleteThe lives of fun seekers and musicians should be taken importantly

ReplyDeleteLOL at Anon 09 March, 2012 04:02's comment.
ReplyDeleteI use Glo when i'm in Nigeria and i prefer them to other networks.
I heard from my friends who attended the event that security at the event was very tight. Everybody entering the venue was frisked and their cars thoroughly searched. It will therefore be unfair to blame the organisers for the incident. If it is indeed true that someone was shot dead, then the police should conduct a ballistic test to determine who fired the shot.
ReplyDeleteBaba has too much ego that he was re
ReplyDeleteAnon 13:15 how could you just open your mouth to say such dirty things? U are such a pathetic liar. The security there was nothing but trash. Lazy security men who all ran for their lives when hell was let loosed. I can’t stand liars like you who won’t let the truth be told. If only your brother was the one killed at the concert, if only and only he was the one.
ReplyDeleteits does bloody ojere students, they have always been a bloody nuisance for as far back as i can remember
ReplyDeleteI don’t like globalcom for anything. Too many fre-nemies. There was a calabar lady who was a PR girl and very sound at it, but alas the Bode group didn’t want her to stay. They frustrated her till Adenuga sacked her. Btw that na him favourite language, U’R FIREDDDDDDDDDDD

ReplyDeleteDidn’t they say mike adenuga paid for a glo advert shoot with paul play? And after sponsoring him to S/A to shoot the commercial and wasting the young man’s time, he later instructed them not to put the commercial on TV. Paul play made his money though, some things rich men do. When you knew the AD won’t get on TV why must you send him to the shoot in S/A. Isshhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteI wished paddy was there. What would his guards do. They will also RUN! PADDY, DADDY'S BOY!

ReplyDeleteIt sad to hear that some body lost is life at Glo Rock ‘N’ Rule Concert". I believe organizers of this event should try and put in good safety measure in the next edition the Glo Rock ‘N’ Rule Concert.
