Emeka Ike's Four Year Old Son Drives Car Into Supermarket

Popular Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, had every reason to thank God on Wednesday, as his three-year old son escaped death by the whiskers in a car accident.
The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in Magodo Phase 1, Shangisha, Lagos. The little boy was said have gone out with his mother when the accident took place. Click read more to continue...
A witness who spoke with us said “The boy and his mother were in the car together. So when the mother wanted to buy something, she had problems removing the car key from the ignition. So she left it and quickly rushed out to buy her things. She left the boy in the car too.
“But before she returned, the boy had turned the key in the ignition, and the car started moving. Everybody just thanked God because the car would have moved straight into the expressway where fatality could be involved.”

We gathered that while the car was moving, it first hit another car before crashing into a shop.

  2. And we r supposed believe this? Keys jammed? Car rams into another car and then somehow manages to crash into d store instead of d highway?
Is d store in the middle of the highway or am i missing something?
I will wait for emeka's comment on this.

Which kain irresponsibility is dis? Leave a 3-4 yr old in d car with d keys in d ignition? In dis lagos? Forget d accident, any thief/kidnapper could have stolen/kidnapped d car and d boy.

  5. She is an idiot. She left the key in the ignition and a four year old in the car. It could have been worse. What if someone got in the car and drove the car with the boy in it. Stupid woman.

  6. Thank God for his mercies.
This is part of the reason why car seats are a MUST here and its against the law to leave a child under 12 in the car alone. Wish naija put such laws in place.
We parents need to be more careful and not take risks. As tempting as it is to quickly dash into a store leaving a child behind, it has serious, sometimes deadly consequences.

But we thank God he was safe.

  7. Wot kind of mother is dt? Leaving ur child in d car to go buy something for any reason @ all is super-dumb!

  8. Good heavens. Thank God for his mercies. I must say though, that was highly irresponsible of the mother. Since when is it a problem getting keys out of ignition? When its not like she is driving a run-down tuketuke car. Kids minds are like mops, everything they see u do, they wanna try. Besides the kid turning the ignition, the car could've been stolen with the child inside, the door could've locked automatically, leaving d kid inside and unable to open, thank God again. Hope you've learnt Mrs Ike!

  9. In Nigeria of today, where kidnappers are looking for ransom money, she left "Emeka Ike's Son" in the car with the keys in the ignition?????? Wish i came around at that point, it would have been free at least 5Million Naira for me. Everyone makes mistakes though, she needs to be more careful next time.

  10. This is why CAR SEAT is a MUST for a any family that has a child below 12yrd. The govt should in fact pass it into law.

  11. am sure she had the boy on her laps, while driving.

  12. Nonsense! She should be grateful it wasn't that disastrous.
And it could be for a stupid reason like not wanting to switch off car ac.

  13. U can never hear this kind of nonsense in d western world. She is very lucky it don't happen in abroad , if not she'd ve being begging 4 her son back after she ve gone 4 several medical checkup

  14. ONOME says...............
I stand for the truth. The woman is a silly irresponsible mother.I basically don't care if she stayed only one minute inside the shop.SHE LEFT A 3/4 YEAR OLD CHILD INSIDE A CAR ALONE WITH THE KEYS IN THE IGNITION?Where was she when parenting classes were being taught?

How can you leave a child alone inside a car?And then with the keys?I obviously understand that she didn't mean it to end the way she did but ignorance is no excuse in the court of law.Let her thank her God properly that she is in Nigeria;come try am for here na,your problem won't be our child king to social/welfare/foster care, your arse will be thrown in jail also. Here where child neglect na serious crime.

Glad the little boy is ok

    1. Oh gosh! Dis is d only comment dat has made sense so far..if it was auto dat car shld be on P nd hand brake up...Manual apply handbrake aswel..dis doesn't even add up

    2. If you turn off the ignition without changing your gear from D to P, the key won't come out. That's probably what happened. It's happened to me before. The boy wriggled the key while it was still in D.

  17. I see all sorts these days. Very irresposible mothers. Some even keep their children in the front seat of a car! No seat bealt. Really annoying. Little children should seat at the back!with their seat belts on. Besides why should Mrs Ike leave her son in the car for a second? When dey no get pikin den go dey hala.

  18. the mum is silly ..About 8 years ago at Alpha beach I told her off for leaving her son to wander about alone near a large expanse of water ad a horse trotting all over the face. I didn't know she's Emeka Ike's wife till later .Emeka was was busy with his fans and she sat there rapata ..I think she was pregs at the time but it's no excuse

  20. Are u kidding me?left a 4yr old baby in d car all by himself.wow.I need to believe that she was not trying to get rid of d baby in a posh way.people dump babies with one disability or the other on the streets her own posh way is by adding a free car, leaving d key.I don't buy that key did not remove thing.so if she was d only one in d car she would have left d key there all d same or was d 4 year old baby old enough to ensure no one steals d car,it looks more like a take d baby take d car thing to me.till we hear from them sha but dis is just too dumb
