“I secretly married her because I have so much respect for my other babies’ mothers; I cannot afford to hurt their feelings with a sudden society wedding with Annie, not now. I chose her above the others because she has been through it all with me.”

"How things change, how new things, places, experiences spring up before you and take priority over all else. It’s 5.00 am and I am in Dubai waiting to catch a flight to Bangalore. Bangalore, that name was never known to me some three months ago, even going to Dubai was not in my things to do list a month ago.
"But [I] am here sitting and waiting for my flight to Bangalore South India and that will be like 6 hours from now. What’s on my mind? Get there and do this damn surgery and get back to Lagos and revisit my drawn things to be done for the year 2012. This was just a distraction that God has conquered."

Mrs Bukokhe, who was originally from Kenya, used her laptop to research ways to commit suicide, applied full make up and painted her nails then suffocated herself at her flat in April.
A diary found after her death said:
‘I think that any life is as valid as the next, such that an ending of 25 is as good as 88. I have no real regrets or fears any more, I just feel decisive and justified.’

In a contemporary society such as ours, the male may see no need to make a permanent commitment. As far as they are concerned, there’s still enough time, and who knows? Someday they may find that ‘perfect soul mate’ and settle down, but in the meantime, they seem to be enjoying themselves. The reluctant partner may not want to reveal his reasons for refusing to commit. As a matter of fact, he may not be aware of them himself, but chances are they’ll fall into one or more of the following categories:

Hi, can we meet you?
I’m Kate Kokoma Ikpong.
We understand you’re not fully based in Nigeria, can you talk about that?
Yes, I’m based in California USA. I have two companies there and am actually running down home finally. I might still go back to California but for now I feel it’s time to come enjoy Africa and do something here, at least contribute to growth of the country.
Should a man who is not up to 40 write a biography? Chude Jideonwo reviews Charles Novia's 'Nollywood till November'
|Charles Novia Chude Jideonwo|
There is an old debate, one that I find necessary: should a man who has hardly finished the first half of his life - let’s put that at 40 - be writing a biography.
Isn’t that rather presumptuous?

Sleep Mommy! Sweet smile on your face as you sleep the pain away, resting in God's arms now, although in the ground your body lay. He needed another angel in the Heavenly choir and that's why you had to go. As you promised, you are still with us watching your children here below. I never would have imagined the end would be like this, me comforting you. Holding your hand, telling you not to worry was not an easy thing for me to do. And even in your weakest hour you tried to comfort me too, caressing my face, and calming my soul as only a mother can soothe. You have always been there through the thick and the thin.
No matter what I've done, unconditionally you love never wavering. When I told you of the mistakes I made and all the times people saw me fall, you simply nodded and gently replied 'so have we all'. The key to success is learning from the past. Ensuring a brighter future is now the present task. A pillar of strength even until the end. Fighting all life's battles, knowing it's triumphantly you would win, pushing me to be the best that you know I can be.
"However, whenever they have been convinced, they have thoroughly enjoyed watching the film and come out hugging the actors."
The Meeting has been getting rave reviews on twitter from people who have watched the film. SilverBird cinemas opens in Ikeja this weekend and THE MEETING will also be showing in the new all digital cinemas.
So what were those mistakes you made in the last one that you wouldn’t want to repeat in this one?
It’s not like I’m trying to sound holy but, I didn’t make any mistake. I just feel it was meant to be like that. I had a mother-in-law who didn’t like where I come from. She didn’t like the fact that her son didn’t marry a lady from their village. She made me go through hell. At a point when I couldn’t take it any more, I left the marriage.
So you wouldn’t blame those ladies who wish their mother-in-laws were dead before they got married?
I swear I wouldn’t blame them. If I think back to what I went through, I wouldn’t pray for anyone to go through such because I went through hell in the hands of that woman. And for me to have woken up one day and decided to leave, it wasn’t easy because I was young and tried my best to please her. But she wasn’t pleased. I went out of my way to learn their language, learn how to cook different dishes just to please her but she didn’t budge.
So what did your ex-husband do about it?
At first, he actually fought it but some women have a strong hold on their sons. In the end, he obeyed her. He didn’t like it that I was leaving but he couldn’t hold me back at the same time because he wanted to please his mum. We had fought the battle for a long time and it wasn’t as if it would come to an end, I had to leave.
