    1. I agree with Ruggedman too...the yeye woman among the interviewers even "shelled" several times, watch the full interview, she made a very laughable and incorrect statement using the word "prominently" and tried to cover it with her fake phonetics and wanna-be tone, abeg those guys were attacking the Shem guy not interviewing him, they invited him to the show for goodness sake. No he's NOT my father n yes it was terrible that he disgraced his office and ridiculed himself but those channels people were unprofessional n cld have handled it way better. And obviously Nigerians love to mock n laff @ people, so easy for us to do, anything to make ourselves happy!

My take is that the para military outfit should have issued a statement or an advert trying to sanitize people on what the outfit does and stand for so that people will not just keep remembering " Oga at the top" as what the outfit stands for ...
imagine a scenario whereby you see an NSCDC official and people start shouting "Oga at the top" without knowing what they do or their objectives.

    3. How unprepared could he be? His organisation's website palaver was one of the reasons he was on air. He couldn't even write it on a piece of paper. He deserves all the insult.

    3. No I won't say erm erm erm ...but the point is "skip the darn question if he doesn't know it...it's clear and move on to the business of the day... Mr/ Mrs Educated

      Delete
    4. Really, there are 2 ways to this. Firstly, I really wont expect an officer at that level not to be able to say the NSCDC website at the count of his fingers. So, I blame him for that! But to think about it on the other end, I actually was working at the Technology dept of a bank some time back and sincerely, I cant answer 50% questions about banking itself! All I was concerned about was making sure that the technical part of the bank was fine! I can imagine being interviewed on the details of banking...Though, i would rather avoid certain questions professionally than to push myself to a point of blabbing! And that's why I blame the man!

And regarding Channels TV, I think they could have done better moving on when it was obvious the man couldn't answer their question. He is their guest. They pleaded for his time to be on the show. And I'm sure they didn't plead with him to come on air to be ridiculed! So, for me, they were a little unprofessional too!

      Anyway, na them sabi sha!

    6. before you comment, pls get information. the reason for the interview was cos Nigerians were being scammed online, paying for job application forms to work at the NSCDC, one guy even paid 150k. The dude was supposed to come on air to educate pple on the application process. Knowing the website address was very key to that interview, thats why the presenters kept asking him for it. He was supposed to say 'go to so and so site, fill out a form and we'll contact you for an interview date, do not pay money to any NSCDC official' Shikena!

That was the reason for the interview so they werent out to ridicule him. He knew this and didnt prepare. He deserves every insult and trend that comes his way. Please cut the 'he's someone's father line'. How does that take away from the fact that he's clueless about his job? He deserves to be sacked pls.

      Delete
    7. Thanks o, Anon 10.10, the reason he was on air bordered around his organisation's website. For him to sit down for that interview without knowing the website reeks of the gross inefficiency that government officials have become known for.

  11. to be fair the clip is the funniest i have ever seen and i have been using the "my oga at the top" quip at least twice everyday nevertheless i think the channels tv presenter were not professional and at a point were brow beating and having fun at the man's expense if i was the man i would have calmly stood up life on air and walked out of the studio.
it is not unheard off everywhere in the world for the top man to get facts muddled up he might not be computer/internet savvy doesn't mean that he is not competent at his job its just a website he wasn't being asked a question directly about his job..my dad does not like any modern technology he gets sent all the latest phones iPhones, blackberrys, laptops name it but till tomorrow you will find the phones in his office unused if you ask him what the website of his companies are he probably doesn't have a clue doesn't mean he is incompetent at his biz

the funny thing is that while everyone is focused on this man who is of no value politically to us as Nigerians good luck and his people are using the opportunity to steal us blind and perpetuate their 2015 agenda yet many dont even seem to realise this

  13. I'm not saying I totally agree with him..but i kinda feel what he'z saying.. I felt that way too, but in my opinion, lets put it dis way the Channels TV crew were utterly DISGUSTED. They were Irritated at the way a man who "Oversees" cudnt give a Direct Logical answer. He also tried to be smart about so many things, which obviously wud make them want to really know, and other times he ansad like he dint get wat dey wer saying..so dey tried to further explain... Maybe dey shud have not pressed as much since dey realized he really wasnt Knowledgeable, maybe change the questions..or kinda bring it down to his level of understanding.. I still feel like it goes both ways. Nigeria just needed to see the quality of individuals they put in authority. and That, they did. For crying out loud, its an interview. meant to attack and address issues that bother the society..that being said, Rugged man, Its as if u will go and rest small. lol!

  14. Honestly, I share the same view as Rugged Man. The guys at Channels were quite childish. It was obvious the chap didn't want to give out the website yet they kept waiting for their "gotcha" moment.

If you watch the clip carefully, you will notice he was being evasive on the real website. He first tried to push it to his "oga at the top" and when they (the "journalists") pushed , he made the gaffe. I'm very sure he meant to give a fake website.

Don't forget there is a recruitment scam going on. I think he was trying not to implicate himself. If he gives the scam website, he's in trouble, if he gives the real website, the scammers inside the organisation can mess him up.

  22. I did a really long post earlier supporting Rugged Man's view on this clip. I must have mixed up how to publish it? (First time. Yea I know ). However the summary is that chap didn't want to give out his organisation's website. Simple. There's a recruitment scam going on online. If he gives out d scam website,( meaning he's involved) he's finished. If he gives the real one without recourse to his "oga at the top" he's insurbodinate.

  55. I can't believe it. There are actually people here defending this man. And we wonder why naija can never move forward.

This is more than him not knowing his website. They brought him on there to addreSs an issue of fake websites being you to extort money from Nigerians.

Any sane person will have gone into that interview prepared to speak on 1.what they are doing to shut down those websites 2. What the real website is 3.How to protect the public in the future from being duped.

The issues are, he is incompetent, he knows nothing about his organization, hence his reference to oga at the top. He failed to prepare for the interview, so he got burnt. He is clearly what we call "educated illiterate" (pun intended).

Continue to support mediocrity and naija will continue to the jungle that it is.

  56. I totally disagree with rugged on this one, may I kindly remind ruggedman that the World Wide Web began over 2 decades ago, and "Naija we hail deed" with all the stupid talk of vision 20/20 have leaders in office that don't know what the simply entrance into the web is. The sad thing wasn't the fact that he didn't know the actual web address, cos in fairness that could happen to any of us, but not to know that a web address should end with .com .ng .org .uk etc for a man of his position, title and amazingly high profiled colorful uniform, could be classed as a holy sin. I won't be surprise if his CV states his degree came from Harvard.
2ndly Journalist are paid to get information and feed such info to their readers, listeners or viewers, its their job to ensure they get answers no matter how tricky or directly they decide to ask the question they want answers too,.... in the western world you have things like investigative journalism and all sort of aggressive journalist who play the "devils advocates" just to get the info they want, and frankly their audience respect their work, cos they get the job done.
When we have leaders and officials like this uneducated authoritative illiterate gracing high profile official seats and blatantly refusing to gain training, educate his mind or move with the current tsunami of the technological age, Naija is definitely still walking on a gloomy part "daz all" lol
