Senators Are Worse Than Robbers – Roberry Suspects

                                                                  The suspects
A security guard with Honda Place Company, who was recently arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly conniving with robbers to steal goods worth over N28m from the company, has said the police should stop going after petty thieves like himself.

Instead, he said the police should focus their attention on politicians, especially senators and House members, whom he described as the “real thieves.”

The suspect, Garba Sani, complained that the N12, 000 he received as salary was too meagre and said he had no choice but to take to crime.

He said, “I’m not an armed robber. I was on duty and I called them (other suspects) and we took the goods. We did not carry guns. We have a lot of senators looting and we also need money. There are many thieves in Nigeria and most of us are jobless youths, we have nothing.

“I earn N12, 000 a month which is too small. We are all criminals in Nigeria and we have criminal blood in our body so nobody should pretend.”

Another suspect, Godwin Okwudili, said the police should drop all charges levelled against them since the stolen goods had since been recovered.

“Sani and I live in the same area. He called me that the goods were available and we went to take them. We did not carry guns. I took the goods to my warehouse and we did not sell them. Everything was recovered intact so what do they (police) want again?” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, told PUNCH Metro that Sani, Okwudili, along with the other suspects, Obinna Ilojebe, Ndubuisi Ike and Anthony Etemah were arrested following thorough investigation which lasted for over eight months.

She said Sani was the security guard at the company and he connived with the other suspect to rob the company.

She said, “On June 31, 2012, about 9pm, four suspects connived with Sani, who is a security guard at Honda Place Company, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, to rob the company of Honda auto spare parts worth over N23m, an air conditioner worth N77,500, a 150 KVA generator worth N3.8m, an 8KVA generator worth N900,000.

“The total value of the goods is worth over N28m and after painstaking investigation, Sani was arrested. His confession led to the arrest of other suspects. The auto spare parts were recovered in Maya Village, Ikorodu, Lagos.”

  14. Nothing justifies stealing but true words coming from the thieves. All the robbers reading this should just take their advice n leave hardworking nigerians out of their robbery schemes and face the politicians who steal without mercy and rob citizens of their future.

  15. A thief is a thief, whether a petty thief or a big thief. If he didn't want a job that pays 12k,he should have struggled to go to school or seek for money to do biz and not come here complaining.. Some people reason even less than that and they are trying to manage... Nigeria is not america where there minimum wage is good,so if everybody in naija with low salary bcomes a thief, what would the country bcome? Or why don't the thieves go to the house of these politicians and rob from them, instead of robbing from people who actually toiled and suffered for there money... Please they should be thrown in jail *hisses**

  19. Their boldness is even annoying. Why can't u guys be bold enough to go steal from senators. The fact that no weapon was used is not enough justification.

  20. Wat an arrogant thief, 12,000 is better than nothing. How about u live within your means and working extra hard to climb d ladder of success rather than stealing

  22. Stupid thieves, its greed that causes all this, they will never remove their eyes from things

  23. 12,000# salary, is that for a a day or a week or a month? Nigeria leaders have no conscience at all even the #12,000 can not make up his transport fee to the work, and all the politician's kids goes Florida for holiday like they going Shop rite, wears all the designers even the producers can not afford to wear, God please take away all of our politicians with you and their kids, they are oppressing the poor.

  24. June 31st? Last time I checked there wasn't one and there has never been one. A genuine mistake or someone is telling porkies?

  25. How dare he say all nigerians are criminals?! Has he gone mad! The boldness is highly preposterous and infuriating! He earns 12k per month and that's enough reason to steal goods worth 28m! Some nigerians are Unbelievable!
They should add nothing less than 5years to his jail term for the rubbish he said.

So because our senators are thieves and looters, u too should turn urself to a thief... Pala pala... God help this country!

  26. Shut your roguish mouth! 12k is not enough so you go steal 28 mill???!!! And you open your mouth to boldly declare that you are not an armed robber. Fine! Our leaders are shyte thieves but this should not justify your behaviour! When I keep saying it, people label me elitist! This is beyond poverty! Because even if this man all of a student starts making 10x his salary today, e no go do am! Na ojukokoro dey do all of us. That is is the prevailing mentality. And if this is what is consistent on all levels, we are doomed I tell ya, DOOMED!!!!
