I Am At War With The Nigerian National Assembly- Kemi Olunloyo

I am at WAR with the Nigerian National Assembly! I DARE them to order my arrest for Educating Gays with their clueless law. I want everyone … to write their lawmakers that I am encouraging gays and supporting their activities underground. The Gay law is FRAUD!! We did not vote for it, they passed it on our behalf stating that God doesn't want it for the people. You put that kind of SHIT on the f*cking ballot and we will be satisfied. The Gay law should be repealed and put on the 2015 ballot like any developed country would.

It is not in the 1999 Constitution and considered fraudulent. When the ppl vote against it, I will be convinced.
Watch me on CNN, CTV and SNN next week.

The WAR begins.

  13. My sister, you can save your drive and energy for the poor civil servant who cannot find a place to live because he cannot afford the exorbitant rent, the hopeless graduate who is seriously searching for a job and the low level worker whose pay cannot take care of tuition for his kids' education. These will make more sense to we Nigerians. We are not the US or France where all the basic needs of life are already given. When we get to that point where we begin to abuse God-given freedom, we will know. But for now, save your energy for what will make sense to a large majority of our country men and women. Let us first fight hunger, poverty and illiteracy. Please!

  45. See nation, most of you are missing the point she is making. The house/senate cannot just make/sign a law without asking you or me how we feel/or our opinions about that law they intend to make.
Maybe she is barking on the wrong tree but the fact still remains that as a "democratic nation" the people who we elected into office must ask our (citizens) opinion through a referendum if we want this or that made into law. This they didn't do hence Kemi's comments. We all just woke up to read that laws against homosexual acts has been signed into law. When and where was the public debate held?
You all calling her a mad woman or an attention seeker are all the reasons why this govt as democratic as the claim to be can continue to blind side us making life unbearable.
The constitution is all we have to protect us from the govt turning us to slaves in our own country through dictatorial acts. If we do not start demanding that the constitutional needs and rights of a Nigerian citizen are met... we are all back to the stone age only difference is the bridges and skyscrapers.

As a democratic nation every side must be heard. It isn't only your votes that count...... your opinions matter as well.
Even the Bible talks about how a people must be treated by her govt and vice versa.
Nation, Please see beyond the surface of her comments.

either you've been out of the country for quite some time or you don't have access to a television. radio or newspaper wherever you live in Nigeria. This is a law that has been on the table for over a year, even pro-gay rights activists presented their case against the law. you are obviously totally ignorant of the process it takes to pass a law in Nigeria. No matter how eager the National Assembly is to pass a law, there is a protocol /laid down procedure they must follow, you can't circumvent the process otherwise the law passed is null & void. As for a referendum that's at the discretion of the Presidency/Executive and nothing in the constitution makes it mandatory for a referendum to be held before a law is passed. The legislators are supposed to be representatives of the people, so it is assumed that they consult with their constituents and only vote in a manner that best represents the interest and wishes of their constituents. Going through this blog alone will give you an idea of what majority of Nigerians feel about this law. you may insult us and call us backwards, so be it, in a democracy the minority will have its say, but the majority will have its way. Majority of the insults Ms Olunloyo is receiving is based on her antecedents and whether you like it or not as a people majority of us are repulsed by homosexuality, you can't force us to like it or accept it just cos its acceptable in other countries.

    1. Open your eyes and see what lies underneath her comments.
Whatever that was discussed in the house (upper and lower) at what point did they ask the general public re the citizens if they want this or that which was discussed. Recently it is anti gay laws that have been signed without asking the citizens... they assume that because they seat in these offices they were elected into they automatically can read our thoughts and minds. Tomorrow it will be something else and as stringent as that law will be they will not consult we the citizens because as usual they can read our minds and assume we all will be in support and hey! what the hell... who can challenge them? right? WE CAN! By seeing things for what they are. Our law makers continue to disregard the sections of the constitution that gives us the right to speak and be heard. I am not only a Nigerian to stand on long queues to cast my vote. I am a Nigeria that believes that as stated in the constitution those whom we have elected into offices owe it to us to hear what we think about rules and laws that will mare us or break us as a nation before they are signed for us to abide by. It should be open for discussion. opinion polls ,survey and questionnaires done to see what the majority of people from the captured demographics within the specified age brackets think. This they have not and did not do through the Local Govts or State Govt before the president signs.
Yes we do not want the people of the same sex to PDA in our mist. Yes we don't want them around us even though we secretly wish we could have a threesome...lol. just kidding. Yes they are this they are that but the precedent in which our lawmakers have used to make bold steps in addressing a very irrelevant issue will only bite we the citizens who have no backing whatsoever from the people we have continuously elected into office. It goes beyond that my dear. Laws or no laws homosexuals will continue to do their thing just as those whom we have elected to have our(citizen) best interest at heart continue to loot our country and not a damn thing happens. Why? because there is a certain disregard for the laws of this particular land called Nigeria.

I hope this complex explanation helps you understand that as a citizen of a democratic nation, the government owes it to you to give you what you want and not you give govt what they want except for taxes. lol. and even though they know what you want they must always ask your opinion if you want it before they give it to you. cool right? I know.......
That is the pride of being a citizen of a democratic nation.

  50. the change we are looking for in Nigeria will never come if like most people commenting on this blog, we all remain foolish and clouded in our thoughts.

if we all dont start to think about what governance in a democratic society means, we can never grow.

Homosexuality aside, the truth is that the opininon of these lawmakers certainly doesnt represent that of the entire Nation. the legitimacy of this bill would be trebled if there had been a referandum and the outcome was in favour of a ban. then we would know for a fact that this is what Nigeria wants.

as we approach the 2015 general elections, govt need to encourage all Nigerians to take matters that concern Nigeria seriously and for us to be involved in whatever shape Nigeria takes going forward. after 2 smoooth refererandum's i can assure you that voters turn out at the election ll increase by at least 30%.

this is our chance to make Nigeria a place where all feel they can live and grow, by hushing someones opininon, you take us all back 25yrs

    UES YOUR GREY MATTER

  51. God also forbids so many things. homosexuality isn't the only abomination in the site of God. You all including national assembly should go Read the bible or Koran again. Then come make laws banning pedophilia,Rape, sexual assault, underage relationship etc. I am sure not long after the signing of the bill into law, there won't be a national assembly as all of them will probably be in jail.
