Happy Birthday OJB! Governor Rotimi Amaechi Donates $100,000

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has pledged to donate $100,000 to OJB. He informed the parties concerned yesterday and will be making the donation tomorrow. Finally the music producer can now undergo his kidney transplant. We thank God. Here is what Nomoreloss who heads the 'saveojb' campaign committee said below. Today also happens to be OJB's birthday.

Officials of the government reached out to us this evening, (Wednesday, June 3) promising to donate a $100,000. The presentation, they say, will be made on Friday (June 5). We are indeed grateful to the Governor and the people of Rivers State. Now we can finally have that surgical procedure.

We also appreciate the kind hearts of Nigerians who have made donations and those that supported us with prayers. May God bless them all’.

We had a place in mind initially, but recently, there’s been several suggestions from some quarters on better options. We would be having a meeting by the weekend with all concerned parties to decide which of the options is best.

The musician also says the identity of the kidney donor will not be revealed.

‘The donor is a family member, but for some reason, we do not wish to disclose the identity. All that matters is for him to have a successful operation’.

Insiders say that the producer who is currently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) undergoing dialysis hopes to have a low-key celebration with a few family and friends if discharged today.

Are u frigging kidding me??? Are u sure these people are not tryna scam d public??? They are too arrogant for comprehension. "Low key celebration"...... Am I d only one seeing sth wrong in this? So cos the money is complete now, dey are thinking of having a "celebration" *naija low kew is NEVER low key* They should let him go and have the surgery and stop all these press release. They keep coming off as arrogant.

  6. I am really happy for not just OJB but people like nomoreloss, ruggedman and co who stood with the guy,i hope the money miss road fellow artistes like dbanj, especially 2face and co will be thoroughly ashamed..GOD has proven to them that he works in mysterious ways.

now that the first part of his ordeal is over, lets hope and pray his operation will be a success. however i hope just like kanu did, OJB will also use his celebrity status to highlight and publicise the plight of those in similar positions but without the celebrity power he has slowly dying in different hospital wards

  11. low-key celebration probably means they will kill a cow, order some champagne. after all, they have more than enough money now. then I suppose that the fundraisers will also draw a salary now. Na our way for naija. I hope OJB won't use some of the money to marry a 4th wife on top the 3 he already has.

    1. what kind of hammer? someone that is not 100% sure his procedure will be a success, hope you realise its a major procedure?
if you have been following the case of the little girl with the malformed head/brain okiki ,although her own procedure is way more complex but nevertheless the money needed for her was raised within 48hrs however when it was time for her operation to be done complications set in and they needed another 500,000 dollars in addition to the original amount

  14. Im happy for him but what of the poor nigerians who have no access to amaechi. We have big problems. How many ppl can afford 100.000. How many died in their beds becuz they were unknown? Its a failed system wen politicisns are making donations to save citizens. Nigeria wake up

  15. What are they celebrating?? I dnt understand o! Does this man (OJB) realise that this is his life he's joking with?? Hmmmmnnnnn... Na wa o! someone that was begging for help seconds ago... Should we be worried abt this man???

  16. Celebrating?? Wrong choice of words...something like "we 'll be having a thanks giving" should have been more appropriate

  22. This irritates me to no end. What about the other nigerians with kidney issues. Can this governor also finance a kidney ward at his state hospital. Then i will know he has done well.
