DAME PATIENCE JONATHAN, The First Lady of Nigeria
HER FULL NAME (plus including her title)
She is Dr. Dame Chief (Mrs). Patience Fakabelema Jonathan (nee Oba). Her middle name is FAKABELEMA, often shortened to Faka, meaning ‘Unending Blessings’. Abiyamo is giving special thanks to George Desmond Iyo of Okrika for his thorough explanation of her roots and name. She is the President of the African First Ladies Peace Mission, and that is why I like calling her the Dame of Africa.
SHE IS OLDER THAN THE PRESIDENT
Okay, calm down, not what you are thinking. Dame Patience Jonathan was born in Port Harcourt on the 25th October 1957 while the don himself was born on 20th November, 1957. Ok, just like a month. By the way, what that means is that her birthday is fast approaching as she will be turning 56 this month.
D’banj this evening paid his friends, the Okunoren twins a courtesy visit at their fashion house. His friends, the Okunoren twins are the ones behind the N3.7m suit he wore not too long ago. First time seeing them, they are quite tall tho.
More after the cut.
On Friday, while inaugurating the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme Maternal and Child Health otherwise known as MAMA Project, The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan said she should no longer be called Patience but “Mama Peace.”
According to her, “My name is no more Patience but now Mama Peace because I believe that without peace, there will be no more women, no more children and no more health sector. Without peace, the international community will be afraid to come and invest in our country. Peace is from the heart and not from the tongue or lips; not what you say but what is in you. We pray for genuine peace because peace is the key to our arriving at our desired destination as a nation”.
Well said Mama Peace
Being Flamboyant Is Not Satanic! Pastor Tom Samson Explains Why He Wears Big Chains Like Music Stars
Here is what he told Bosede Olusola Obasa in a recent interview.
People say that you are a flamboyant pastor, how would you react to that?
It is because of where I am coming from.
In fact, your neck chain has been described as expensive, just like those worn by Nollywood stars…
It is because they don’t know where I am coming from. I am here to make a statement, including the way I build my buildings. Look at this facility, the one in Ikeja, you also need to come to Royal City. The crown on the building alone costs a lot. Even the school I build must spell class, the hospital and so on, the cars I drive, the clothes I wear – they are all a reflection of what God can do. I will never do anything inferior for God. Who says that being flamboyant is satanic? Satan has nothing. The Bible says, “I give you power to get wealth.” Even if I look expensive, it is more of what I give out than what I wear or have. Between last year and now, I have given out about 20 cars to those who needed them – especially missionaries. Where I live, the people didn’t have electricity supply for four years. I had to intervene with transformer and accessories. I depict and reflect God. My message is that God can lift anyone. I tell the whites that being a Nigerian doesn’t mean one has to beg. In Florida, a man of God wanted to know what needs we had in our church and I said I would rather ask him that question and I gave him $2,000. God’s word says it is more blessed to give than to receive. I finance all my churches abroad.
So, you have no apologies for being so flamboyant?
No, I don’t.
A lot of people have said the former Governor is bleaching. In this new interview, a Punch reporter asked him if he was bleaching, and the former Governor, said, write it there that I said you are silly. Did you know me when I was black? I don’t know what gave people that impression, he said angrily. Find part of the interview below.
After Saheed Balogun denied taking his wife to court few days after it was reported in the media. Fathia has called him out, by saying he is a liar, and he indeed sued her, when she refused to drop his name. Here is what the actress said through her publicist, Seun Oloketuiyi;
“Our attention has been drawn to media reports where Saheed Balogun claims that he knows nothing about the media reports that he is in court with our client Fathia Balogun over his decision to ask his former wife to stop using his name.
“We will like to put the records straight. The case is in court and our lawyers are on it to ensure that our client retains the name. We won’t be saying much at this time but we believe that adults should be bold and mature enough to take responsibility for their actions and not do something and say something else.
“We won’t say anything further on this matter until judgement is given as this case resumes hearing.”
Hi honey, this is daddy. Is mommy near the phone?” a voice on the other end answer “No daddy she is upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul.” The little girl quipped.
“After a brief pause daddy says “but honey you haven’t got an uncle Paul!”
“Oh yes I do, and he is upstairs in the room with mommy right now.”
... Brief pause “uh okay then, this is what I want you to do: “Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs, knock on the bedroom door, and shout to mommy that daddy’s car has just arrived at the gate.”"Ok daddy just a minute…”
The Nigerian men I have dated have been very romantic; I guess it depends on the type of man one attracts and also what one deems romantic. Know whom you’re with, some guys don’t want to say cheesy things and look into your eyes but they will always make sure your happiness comes first. Not everything has to be a large “romantic” gesture. Romance has to do with being selfless. Simple things like, choosing to stay with your girlfriend all weekend watching movies instead of being at the clubs all weekend with the boys is romantic; others are sending flowers for no reason at all, surprise dinners, heartfelt messages. If your partner really knows you and loves you, he’ll find ways to be romantic and find ways to make you happy. I actually find Nigerian guys far more active and good when it comes to making large romantic statements. A tip to guys, flowers always makes women happy, even if they say they don’t love flowers. They probably do and if sending chocolates with cards is what your lady wants, it really won’t hurt or take much time."
This is the kind of story my grandma tells us, and we usually tell her then to stop, grandma just stop the exaggerations. But here is a 20-year old lady narrating her own experience, almost the same story she told us then. She said her father is a ghost and she never met her mum. Her father also brought home another ghost, a man she married, not knowing he was a ghost. But why do ‘ghosts’ do this? They both left when she insisted she wanted to meet their family members, now she is left with nothing and no money to take care of her 3 young children she had for her ghost-husband. I wish a pastor will explain this to us. I will love to know what this means spiritually. This is the time we need the likes of Princess of Zion on this blog ,lol. I don’t believe a man can live again after death, except he’s a demon. I still don’t believe this. There’s no life after death, except after the judgement day. And I pray we all make it to His new paradise, Amen. Read her story below, so you will understand what this is all about.

Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has decided to give back to her Alma Mater First Foundation College, Ajeromi Ifelodun, Ajegunle. She decided to sponsor Red House (her former house) which has now changed its name to the Ruth Kadiri House and also paid the school fees of 5 school children who are usually the last to pay their fees because according to her, when she was in school she was always the last to pay her fees. Check out more photos below.
As early as 7am on the 12th of Dec., 2013, a kidnapper and rapist was caught at Akogun street , at Olodi Apapa when he was trying to run away with an 8-year old girl still bleeding from her private part after raping her. According to an eye witness, the girl was quickly rushed to the hospital before people descended on him. See the face of the criminal here.
The Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party Campaign and Mobilisation Committee in the South West, Prince Buruji Kashamu has threatened to institute legal action against former president Olusegun Obasanjo for referring to him as a wanted criminal in his letter to President Goodluck Jonathan, which was published online.
Chief Obasanjo had in his 18-page letter to Mr. Jonathan referred to Kashamu, the major financier of PDP in Ogun State, as a criminal wanted by Uk and USA authorities for drug trafficking and money laundering crimes and thus should not be seen as being a close associate of the president.
Though some people have said they are presently not talking to each other. The two were recently spotted at the local airport on their way to Port Harcourt for an award ceremony which took place in Bayelsa. These two look so hot together. I am not a match maker, but I really wish they can come back together. They will give the young ones a run for their money (the ones flaunting their bf’s like it’s no man’s business, lol). They will make them jealous, lol. Ibinabo and Fred have a daughter together. Cute couple! I like!!
Karen might be funny at times, but when she wants to pour out her mind, or give an advice, she does not care who is listening or reading her tweets. She might keep saying almost the same thing for a long time or stay online 30mins and talking, and no matter how hard any fan tries to bring her down or tells her to shut it, Karen will never stop. In fact, that’s when she pushes it further and instead of stopping at the planned 30mins, she could go on for an hour, lol. This morning, she took to twitter, to tell her fans to stay STRONG. Check out the tweets below. You will need to start reading from the last tweet upwards, to understand her.
Lol. Someone must have pissed her off. Hear her;
“I swear a couple of these industry peeps suffer from extreme complex or just straight schizophrenia... Let's not forget the guys who see you in person but wait until the next day to send you a DM saying 'You looked nice last night' *side eye* I'll always say hello if I know you, that's just the way I am. No time for the complex! Not cute at all! The females definitely take the cake, today they are all smiles...tomorrow they'll make eye contact with you and then look away. #SadTimes. And those lads who don't handle rejection very well...they're the worst! Do NOT squint your eyes at me, you know EXACTLY who I am lol! It irks me when you see me and then act like you don't know me until I say hello. Like really? We were just talking a few days ago...!”
Beyonce has dropped a new album over the night called Beyonce on iTunes. The album has interesting tracks including; Flawless, which featured Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Her speech about feminism and the roles women play in the society by her were used in the track. She is also the author of Half Of A Yellow Sun, which was also turned into a movie. God bless Chimamanda.

Habeeb Arowora who died on the 3rd of Dec., 2013 at Ikeja General hospital has been buried according to Muslim rites and a 8th day prayer ceremony was held for him last week Sunday. On getting home, Mr. Habeeb went into the kitchen, turned on the gas cooker and it exploded, giving him severe injuries. He was said to have spent 2 weeks in the hospital before giving up the ghost. A lot of his close friends and dignitaries including, Alhaji Olohunwa and wife, Rasheed Muri-Okunola, fuji act Sule Alao Malaika and others all graced the occasion. He is survived by his only sibling, sister and his 8-year old daughter, whom he never met because she was born in London and lived there with her mum. Though they would have met, but there was a misunderstanding between the two lovers. Habeeb was into properties, automobiles and building & construction materials. The photos after the cut.
The Presidency two nights ago rose in defence of President Goodluck Jonathan for not speaking at the memorial service in honour of the former South African leader, Nelson Mandela in South Africa.
The President had come under serious condemnation by critics in the social media, who wondered why he went to Johannesburg in the first place without rendering an oration in honour of Madiba as other world leaders did.
But Presidential Spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati, dismissed the attacks on the President as a classic case of much ado about nothing, as Jonathan was not billed to speak at the ceremony in the first place.
The actor who is well loved by so many people, due to the way he effectively carries out his roles, is down with a heart disease. Mr Bakare has been in and out of hospital and presently at his home now. He says, he feels weak, and can’t do anything at the moment and he’s asking for the help of well-meaning Nigerians. His words;
“I'm weak; I cannot do anything for now. I've also not been able to work for a while now as a result if this illness, so I'm calling on well-meaning Nigerians for support.”
After leaving Mania Magazine, Dimeji Alara is now the new Editor of Genevieve Magazine. The announcement was made today by the magazine on twitter.
Kefee and TY-Mix at the opening ceremony
Barely a year, after opening the Branama kitchen in Maryland, Mende, Lagos, Kefee has closed down the restaurant. It was gathered that the restaurant has been suffering from low patronage due to lack of maintenance before it was eventual closed few weeks ago. Some people have said the restaurant lacked maintenance because of the absence of the gospel singer who has been in the US for some months now.
How time flies. Bisi Ibidapo Obe’s daughter, Destiny Melaye is already one. The happy mother threw a birthday party for her few days ago. And if you are wondering why she bears Melaye, that’s because Hon. Dino Melaye is her dad according to her mom. Such a cutie. Happy belated birthday to her.
A lawyer and a man, believed to be one of his workers, were found dead this morning in a Toyota Camry car after the popular Inter-Bau Roundabout in Asaba, Delta State. The engine of the car was still on and the air conditioner was also on when the incident happened. People noticed the occupants of the car were not moving, before they rushed towards the side of the car to see what had happened, before finding them dead. No one knew the cause of their death. But some people who identified the man said, he mostly dealt with land matters and was just returning from a court session.
Her breasts are like stones. Like a hard object that can break anything into two. It’s unbelievable, I just watched the video now, and believe indeed, God created us differently. A HARD Br**st? Ha mi ori eleyi ri ooo, lol (meaning I have never seen anything like this before, lol). Watch the video here.
In less than two weeks of releasing the African Christmas Medley album on www.shugaentertainment.com it has recorded over 10000 downloads from music lovers all over the world.
The album which is a brain-child of Akin Tofowomo, the man known in the social circles as Akin Shuga, has topped charts and broken boundaries in the first week of release, thereby causing the download site to experience such heavy traffic and prompted the need for website operators to keep tabs, reconfigure and increase the bandwidth to accommodate more traffic.
Oby Edozieh and Elvis Chuks have won N1m each at the just held Home Video Awards, HOMEVIDA, for producing movies with important messages relating to the society. Oby won hers with her much talked about movie, Save Our Soul, a movie based on Cancer, while Elvis won his, based on his movie, Victim Of The Society. Oby further stated that the real challenge of producing a movie is to produce quality and not quantity. Big congrats to the actors.
“OBJ has finally closed GEJ’s chapter with his letter. Jonathan is finished- mark my words. Abati should shut up and let his boss speak for himself on this one. The Ebora Owu has spoken and the issues that he has raised are too serious to be ignored or to be responded to with amateurish and cheeky insults and slurs from a mere staff of the Presidency. The President should find the courage to personally answer the charges and address the message rather than get his aides to attack the messenger. As Baba said, Jonathan is “bleeding Nigeria to death”. It is time for change.
God used Obasanjo to put Jonathan in power and, by His grace, He will use that same Obasanjo to remove him.”
Are we cruising into the new year? Has anyone seen this giant ship in Victoria Island? What is it about because it is actually on shore? Is it a luxury cruise holiday launch? An architectural installation? A façade of something bigger than our wildest imaginations?
Already intrigued and fascinated by this sight? We would love to discover where this giant cruise liner is located. Do share if you know what's going on.

World’s renowned singer, Don Moen is presently in Nigeria. He arrived yesterday for Royalty Christian Centre’s Wonders of Worship 2013 programme. Sunmbo took a quick pose with the singer and his wife. Remember Sunmbo is the church’s General Overseer’s wife.
She had an exclusive interview with Hollywood reporters where she explained why she has no child and how a lot of people depend financially on her.
"If I had kids, my kids would hate me," she told the paper, "They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah Show talking about me; because something [in my life] would have had to suffer and it would’ve probably been them."

We have noted the publication on several websites today of a letter recently written by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The Presidency acknowledges that it has indeed received the said letter from Chief Obasanjo.
We however find it highly unbecoming, mischievous and provocative that a letter written by a former Head of State and respected elder statesman to President Jonathan has been deliberately leaked to the mass media in a deplorable effort to impugn the integrity of the President and denigrate his commitment to giving Nigeria the best possible leadership.
While many patriotic, objective and well-meaning Nigerians have already condemned the leaked letter as self-serving, hypocritical, malicious, indecent, and very disrespectful of the highest office in the land, President Jonathan has directed that none of his aides or any government official should join issues with Chief Obasanjo over it.
Following the withdrawal of the ultimatum given to the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and after CBN confirmed the N200bn payment, the Federal Government and the union today signed a memorandum of understanding, MoU, in Abuja. If things work out fine, the strike may be called off next week when ASUU presents the MoU at its National Executive meeting, NEC next week. We pray it turns out that way.
A 6-year-old boy near Colorado Springs, Colorado, was suspended from school for kissing a girl on the hand. You read that correctly.
"It was during class," first-grader Hunter Yelton said in an interview with CNN affiliate KRDO. "We were doing reading group, and I leaned over and kissed her on the hand. That's what happened."
Not only did Hunter's peck get him suspended from school, but the school accused him of s*xual harassment, KRDO reported.
The music brothers who are presently in South Africa to shoot a video, also stopped by to pay their last respect to the departed great leader. May his soul continue to rest in peace. Another photo after the cut.
Culled from Premium Times
An apparently angry and frustrated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has written what clearly competes as one of the most acerbic letters in modern history to President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.
“Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the 18-page letter dated December 2, 2013 and exclusively obtained by Premium Times Tuesday.
He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.
I love this Pastor, lol. When you are big, you are big. Lol
To Graça Machel and the Mandela family; to President Zuma and members of the government; to heads of state and government, past and present; distinguished guests - it is a singular honour to be with you today, to celebrate a life unlike any other. To the people of South Africa – people of every race and walk of life – the world thanks you for sharing Nelson Mandela with us. His struggle was your struggle. His triumph was your triumph. Your dignity and hope found expression in his life, and your freedom, your democracy is his cherished legacy.
It is hard to eulogise any man – to capture in words not just the facts and the dates that make a life, but the essential truth of a person – their private joys and sorrows; the quiet moments and unique qualities that illuminate someone's soul. How much harder to do so for a giant of history, who moved a nation toward justice, and in the process moved billions around the world.
The Devil is BOLD…. Trying to use your BREAST to Distract Men and have them think un Godly While listen to her speaking about the word. The DEVIL knows the word, People DON’T BE DECEIVED. Watch the video here.
Most of you will remember Yetunde Akilapa, an actress that was sent to jail for wrong accusation of theft. She was later discharged and acquitted in court for lack of evidence. She tells her story to First Weekly below.
There is a rumour that you were set up by your friends, how true is this?
Yes, it’s true. Some of my friends set me up.
Why did they do that to you?
Let me narrate everything to you from the beginning. I am into business, I sell weave-ons. I learnt hairdressing before joining acting, it was just that I had no time for the business because of my acting career. I used to have a salon at Bariga area of Lagos State, but I left the place for a friend, Titi, who is a cousin to my boyfriend, Wale. The only thing I didn’t give her was the weave-ons in the shop. I told her to sell them, and that she should give the money to my younger sister, who lives near the shop. However, she refused to deliver the money she made from the sales to my sister. I later went there to pick up all my things in the shop and requested for my money. To my surprise, she claimed that there was no money with her because a lot of people owed her.
