I Do Read Blogs & The Comments Sometimes Get Me Depressed- Halima Abubakar

Halima Abubakar has said she read blogs and has been reading it for years, even though a lot of actresses claim they don’t. But she said the comments sometimes get to her because most people do not know her story. She also warned her friends to stop commenting under anonymous to insult her, insisting that, if they have any problem with her, she thinks they should face her. Her words after the cut.
"That’s like physical bullying. Online, they are invisible. I believe if you have a problem with me, you should approach me. But if you go online and comment as anonymous or use a strange name, you are still bringing yourself down. Yes, you would make me feel sad, but the damage will not be permanent, but temporary until I am strong enough not to read those comments again. I am going to say it that I am not one of those actresses that say they don’t read blogs. I do. I have been reading blogs for the past five years or so, but I have never commented. Sometimes I am pushed to insult everybody there and comment under anonymous. But then I tell myself, well, they would always remain anonymous while I stay relevant. And so, I bear most of the insults and try not to be bothered about them.It was not easy. I was depressed for a long time because of things like that. I just felt that people didn’t like me. I didn’t understand how people could still hate me even when I know I am one of the nicest people in Nollywood. I am not disrespecting anybody, I am just saying that even if someone has hurt me several times, I will still be nice to the person. People just go ahead and bash me for no reasons. They don’t even know me and they are saying this and that. Before, I will cry and cry and get depressed. But now, I don’t even bother myself anymore. They don’t know what I’m going through and they don’t know my story," she told thenetng.

    1. I like Halima and would never insult her on a blog, the one person I don't like in Nollywood that I have met on a set is Susan Peters, a very stupid girl, I have read about all her atrocities on the Blogs and am not surprised

  11. I agree with her and Ladun, you bloggers are to blame for most of these things... You see hateful , terrible, derogatory comments but you still go ahead to post it knowing fully well that it's going to cost some ppl thier happiness. Some ppl hv attempted sucide jst bcos of 'comments on blogs' but the depressing thing about it is that those who wrote those things don't evn have an ida of what thier comments are doing to people at a given time. I understand the fact that you should be objective but then you shld nt allow people to be broughtt down by ur medium. Forget the fact that these guys r called 'celebs' they r humans just like you and i. The creators of blogger.com created the cpmment approval for a reason.

  17. i can certainly feel for her but really truth be told she looks like a tortoise and her appalling dress sense is not helping at all.if you are going to plaster every picture on blogs and social media at least make sure you are on point..
after the jalabia issue with mercy johnson no one Yabs her because she has really blossomed and totally transformed her fashion ensemble
