Is Pastor Oyakhilome Planning To Divorce His Wife?

May be yes, may be no, but all seems not to be well with the messengers of God. Pastor Chris’s wife, Mrs Anita Oyakhilome who heads their UK headquarters branch according to a Facebook page has not been seen in the church she pastors for months now and it has left a lot of people wondering what could have gone wrong.

A post on the Facebook page purported to be the summary of Pastor Chris’ speech with United Kingdom-based pastors and deacons of Christ Embassy at the Bermondsey branch of the church on May 16, 2014, stated that;

I am here for your concerns about the ongoing domestic issue with my wife and I know it affects you directly, being the ones under her leadership.

This is not an organisation or a political party, so it's not a place for you to air your opinion or scrutinise what we do. We had a vision, started and you joined us. If you don't like what we do, you can get out.

Churches where members air their views never grow.

Some pastors wives think when they marry a pastor they are equal to the pastor. My wife thinks so, as a matter of fact, Rev. Tom was her pastor before I married her and Rev. Ray and Evang. Owase were her leaders long before I married her. How come she thinks she's senior to them now?

I already started Christ Embassy before I married her. I didn't marry her and said we should start Christ Embassy. I was already pastoring. I already set my sail and knew my direction before I married her. I only said come and help me.

Be careful of the friends you keep. My wife keeps friends who bring out the worst in her and help her see the worst in people instead of keeping friends that will help her vision especially as the wife of a global pastor like me.

Bitterness is prolonged and accumulated anger. My wife is always angry and bitter.

Allegations are either false or twisted information. The current situation is not as a result of what I did or what I didn't do. I didn't do anything to have caused an upheaval.

You don't join a woman to fight her husband.

I'm not teaching you what is wrong, at least I have 2 girls who will one day marry and I want to them to enjoy it.

Some of Mrs Anita’s supporters have also opened a Facebook page asking people to pray for her as others also pleads with the couple that God forbids divorce and they should please come back together for the sake of their daughters.

LADUN IF U DON'T HAVE A RELIABLE SOURCE, I ADVISE U TO CHANGE UR SOURCE OF INFO. NOTHING OF SUCH HAS HAPPENED NOR HAS PASTOR CHRIS ANNOUNCED ANY DIVORCE WITH HIS WIFE. I KNOW BECOS I ATTEND CHRIST EMBASSY. NOW U MENTION "ACCORDING TO SOME CHURCH OFFICIALS", IF U HAVE THEIR NAMES PUBLISH THEM. DON'T HIDE UNDER THE CLOAK OF ANONYMITY. NOBODY WILL KILL U. REMEMBER THIS KIND OF STORY HAS CROPPED UP IN D PAST AND NO DIVORCE. I GUESS U SHUD HAVE ASKED A CHRIST EMBASSY MEMBER B4 PUBLISHING DIS INFO. THOROUGHLY FIND OUT SO U DON'T BECOME JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BLOGGER TO UR FANS AND READERS.

  15. Why are they living apart? Hian! What are they preaching? The gospel of separation? Abeg! Put your house in order, Pastor Chris.

  16. But pastor chris should have kept this to himself. He bad mouthed his wife with what he just said. Whatever it is, as a pastor, He should still protect his family by not letting the matter out in the open. Na wah o

    1. Even though I am rather saddenned by these events, they have vindicated the Word of God, which cannot be broken. I have said it several times in various fora that nobody should aspire to be a pastor in the way these 'men of God' have made pastoring out to be. Mr. Oyakhilome, wife and co. (AKA Believers Love World; AKA Christ Embassy and his like) have written another gospel, the gospel of self promotion and a shameful display of flashy and fleshly lifestyles which are in sharp contrast to the biblical gospel of peace, righteousness, holiness, purity, longsuffering, modesty, humility and truth. These self proclaimed 'pastors' should, for God's sake, understand what pastoring in Ephesians 4:11-14 means. Pastoring is one of many gifts given by God for the spiritual growth and maturity of the church along with other gifts mentioned such as apostles, prophets, evangelists and teachers. A gift is an operational ability inherent in a person such as skilled footballers, singers, painters, artists etc. A gift is a gift, not a position of authority or hierarchy. This is the terrible mistake and undoing of todays 'pastors' who establish religious houses with Babylonian denominational names By the time tithes and offerings start rolling in, plus the godlike reverence and worship from their members, these pastors become proud and untouchable and rule their congregations with their wives. This is shameful and will always lead to the downfall of these men as is the case here. Leadership and church administration in the Bible are handled always by more than two elders; never by a single 'pastor' .We should look at Acts. 20:17; Titus 1:5; Ist Tim. 4:14; 1st Tim.3:1-7; James 5:14. Also check out this site; you'll be amazed: http://homechurchhelp.com/biblical-pastors
Finally, whom did the Lord Jesus drive out of the temple? Men who had turned the place into a money making venture...we should learn from this. may the Lord Jesus come, Amen, and cleanse the church, his own body from these 'pastors'. wolves in sheep clothing, robbers and hired hands. AMEN

  26. Pastor Chris misfired by first bringing this issue to the public domain. He also did not show maturity by telling people not to air their opinion in a house of God. If anything, he simply confirmed that Christ Embassy is indeed his personal organization, moreso, by saying that "if you don't like what we are doing, you can get out". That is rude and pride. Interestingly, it can be deduced that the issue at stake is not as result of direct quarrel between husband and wife. It is obviously an issue of supremacy between some senior pastors and Rev. Anita. In any case, as husband and wife, both pastors Chris and Anita are one, biblically speaking and if anybody feels strongly, he or she should also leave. As a matter of fact, some of those senior pastors mentioned by pastor Chris, always feel olympic and above the sky and would not allow other members to lord it over their wives. Pastor Chris failed to specify the allegations and one may be left with the conspiracy theory that they bother on 'unaccountability, dishonesty and shaddiness' and for Christ's sake, Rev. Anita has the statutory right to query these misdeeds. Pastor, I implore you to be wise and deal wisely in this issue because your home matters a lot just like the ministry. You may want to cite Jesus as an example of loving his disciples more than his mother and brothers but you must also know that He did not marry because of the high demands of the Commission. Please, pastor Chris, do the needful for the sake of your wife, children and the greater followership of Christ Embassy.

  33. This is not an issue to start advocating for support or opinion from the public , especially issues between a man and woman of God.
We all should pray for their reunion seeing God hates divorce with passion , and I want everyone understand that Pastor Chris his wife are human , so pray for them. I strongly urge the husband to join in praying for his wife as this is the believers injunction from the Almighty God to always uphold each other in prayers.
