UNILAG Undergraduate At War With NIPOST Over Missing Diamond Ring

A Unilag undergraduate, Olayemi Victoria has accused NIPOST office, Unilag branch of stealing her diamond engagement ring and Blackberry Z10 sent to her by her fiancé in the US.

Olayemi said a Diamond ring, Blackberry Z10, PS, chocolate bar and magazine were all in the package, but the Diamond ring and Z10 were missing when she received the package She said she immediately returned it back and made a complain asking them to return what they took form the package but one of the officials threatened to beat her up.

After speaking to her fiancé, she made a report at the Sabo Police Station, but little or nothing was done. She was later directed to NIPOST’s Somolu district when the lady insisted on having her stolen items back. The diamond ring belongs to her, but the Z10 was for her fiancé’s brother, she said.

  20. I am surprised at the level of thinking of some Nigerians on this blog. In an ideal society, a government owned institution like NIPOST should be more trusted than all those private companies mentioned. Her financee is aboslutely right for using Nipost. If she is sure sent the items as claimed, don't hesitate to press charges!

    1. I normally use DHL in Germany. Live in Strasbourg but hv to go to Germany (kehl border btw France & Germany). So much cheaper than France. They fix prices per 10kg. So if u hv a package of 10kg it'll cost about 60€ and 20kg abwt 95€. Same price if it's 15kg. I usually go to d German post and there you get a DHL service. 3weeks but it'll get there. All d best. Chidinma.

  32. Sent baby clothes to my niece in 2011 through royal mail, UK. Nipost processes all mails and packages sent via royal mail. Still date, she is yet to receive the items.

After numerous visits to nipost, she got tired. She was told they had not received it and they were requesting for proof of postage from the UK. Meanwhile, royal mail insisted that the package was dispatched and delivered to nipost's sorting center in lagos.

  34. The girl is not lying. This Unilag post office people are thieves. I served in Unilag last year and I buy dresses on Asos so as I put my office address as delivery address and the dresses are sent to unilag Nipost. At first they were efficient. I bought some dresses last year September, asos sent the dresses but did not see it in Unilag post office, asos sent it again but I did not get the dress to collect. I had to use my sister's office address which is near obalende's Nipost office before I could collect the dresses.

Maybe your boyfriend is not Nigerian, that's the only excuse he can give. NO Nigerian with common sense would send valuables through NIPOST. Oh boy na one chance be that!
