After protesting for days which also continued this morning
when UNILAG students shut down the gates leading into the school and all
academic activities, with some of them also occupying the senate building, the
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic & Research, Prof. Babajide Alo immediately
pronounced a reversal of the hiked fees for course registration, and other
charges, described as unacceptable by the protesting students this morning.
He also said the imposition of various charges on students
to register separately for General Studies (GST) courses which they also protested
be reversed.
The increased charges from N10, 000 for late registration of
courses, to N25, 000, were also immediately reversed and asked students who
have made payments for some of these to approach their faculty officers with
teller evidence for a refund.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the notification Ladun, we did it and achieved it. It wasn't even for days, it took us just that yesterday Friday, 6th of June to call them to order and thank God the outrageous fee has been reversed. Unilag students aint trouble makers but whenever we speak, its definitely for justice and we have never failed. President Jonathan can say more about us...lol, You know wha am talking bout.
ReplyDeleteYou can get the video and more pictures of the protest on my blog ---> www.unilaghowfar.com

ReplyDeleteGood job
ReplyDeleteGreatest Akokites!!!! You are indeed great!! HOWEVER, beware. This reversal is only to allow them conduct the convocation peacefully. The registration imbroglio is just a test run for a general fee hike. So prepare. Unilag is the most internally lucrative uni in Nigeria, prof bello and his senate members must present a state of affairs of unilag accounts. Only then can we have a minutes respite.
