APC Warns Fayose Against Organising Rally Same Day With Buhari In Ekiti

Governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has planned to organise a parallel rally on Saturday, same day APC presidential rally holds in Ado-Ekiti. Fayose plans to hold his rally at the major Fajuyi park which is a major route to the venue of the APC presidential rally.

The APC through its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed said “This is nothing but a deliberate act of provocation, and it is a dangerous game by a Governor who has now become notorious for making incendiary statements and taking irrational actions. Gov. Fayose should be told in clear terms that being the Governor of a state demands huge responsibility, not brazen rascality.”

Fayose’s planned rally is said to be an attempt to disrupt the APC presidential according to APC. Lai Mohammed further went on to say;

“The security agencies should also advise the Governor against actions that are capable of triggering violence and disrupting public peace. If the Governor fails to heed to the voice of reason, then he should be solely held responsible if there is any breach of peace or a disruption of the APC presidential campaign rally at Ado-Ekiti on Saturday.”

  2. We want violence free elections and campaigns. There is no big deal if the two parties organised their rallies the same day since they are not using the same place

  4. That's too bad from fayose. Holding parallel rally in same city would bring clashes between supporters of the two parties. He should shift his date.

  13. The NSA, SSS, NPF, Inec should take note. Two parties can't campaign on the same day in a state.

  15. This man will definitely cause violence. I think the president should caution him, nigerians cant afford to face violence right now, remember bokoharam issues are there. If violence errupt during this election bokoharam will definitely use that to penetrate lagos and other cities they have not been able to reach and then fayose and all these big politicians will fly their family abroad. You the poor masses will suffer it..
