The Independent National
Electoral Commission started announcing the results of the March 28, 2015
Presidential Election which took place in the country yesterday. Eight states were
first announced around noon including the FCT, while more States were announced
at night. Hopefully the rest of the other states which were not available
yesterday will be available today so the commission can move forward with the
final declaration of the results. The results shall be updated here soon as they are announced.
Update at 12:48pm: An APC party agent has asked why the results from Rivers State were delayed. And here’s how Prof. Jega answered him;
1:05pm: Jega calls for a
30-minute break to process results from Benue and Adamawa States. So they will
be back in 30 minutes.
From Reuters News Agency: "With three states left
to count, #Nigeria's #Buhari leads by three million votes", the news agency says.
Update at 12:48pm: An APC party agent has asked why the results from Rivers State were delayed. And here’s how Prof. Jega answered him;
"Sunday morning, I
received a petition from APC demanding for the cancellation & rescheduling
of elections. We have established that elections were held in Rivers State. We
cannot establish cancellation of results either. The decision of the commission
is that we will take the results of the elections in Rivers State," he
said. The results are now being announced.
