The Bayelsa Development Forum,
BDF, in a statement issued today by the Secretary-General, Ebimo Anderson has
said it is making an elaborate plan to host president Jonathan to a “heroic
welcome reception”, as he prepares to return to the state after losing out in
the March 28th presidential election. The youths called him a hero who
deserves to be honoured for turning Nigeria around.
“As Ijaw people and proud
Bayelsans, even though, we are deeply pained by the loss of our son at the
polls, we are grateful to God and Nigerians for entrusting one of our own with
the responsibility of leading this great nation at a time when it was thought
impossible that a minority from the South-South will hold the highest office in
the land,” Mr. Anderson said.
“We are indeed glad that President
Jonathan did not disappoint us as a nation by his sterling leadership and in
the process making history,” part of the statement read.

Actually I criticized the govt of GEJ until after the election. I have since realized that instead of continuously condemning this man, we should praise him for the service rendered to the nation. My rethink is based on the fact that as human beings, we can never find political happiness regardless of whoever is our leader. While we have things that we wish he could have done better, we should not overlook the things that he did very well. The leader always take the blames even for the gluttonous underdog who surrounded the president and misinformed him of important things. Most of the advisers of GEJ are rogues who took advantage of his simplicity for their selfish gain.
ReplyDeleteLets look at American democracy for instance, the presidents are criticized, voted out of power only to commence the same criticism on the new one. Let us applaud GEJ as he leaves the stage for GMB and wish and pray that GMB improves the state of the nation in a more positive way. Let us wish GEJ well and continue to remember him for his service and good sportsmanship.
People like Dokubo Asari and other miscreant should be stripped of their citizenship and banish from this country. The Ijaws does not seem to have any credible leader after the death of the highly revered Ken Saro Wiwa of blessed memory. Ken Wiwa was not in the struggle for personal aggrandizement such as the likes of Asari who is out to fill his large belly. How can you be advocating for the people and have a university in another country? What was his source of income, job record before the government of GEJ? This mediocrity of villains camouflaging as heroes must be reject by the good people of Ijaw. Let us remain one great indivisible country.
I must add that I really miss mama Peace and her antics. It was a great election.
