I Suffered So Much That I Had To Go To Parties To Beg For Food- Sean Tizzle

Sean Tizzle in a new interview with Nigerian Tribune has revealed what a lot of people will find shocking about him. According to Sean, he suffered so much that he had to go to parties to beg for food, and then help out later on for little change. Here’s what he said;
Those days were very rough, but we thank God that we have been able to sail through. I used to sleep outside, hustle and fall asleep in buses. I also used to go to owanbe parties not to dance, because I didn’t have party clothes to wear, but I used to go because they had food. So at least at the end of the party, I could help out, get a little change, then go find shelter somewhere and continue my hustle the next day.

Photo: Could He Be President Jonathan’s Son, Or Just A Mere Resemblance?

They say his name is Ibime Belema-Jonathan and he is 24. A lot of news site has been reporting the guy declared he is President Jonathan’s son yesterday on twitter, but we found it hard to believe.

We have looked tirelessly for his twitter handle, searched him online with no reference, which makes us at Ladun’s blog doubt this story. He sure looks like the president, but does that make him his son?  In case you care to read what we found on one of the news sites, read it below.

"According to Belema-Jonathan, his mother was a receptionist in a Port Harcourt hotel (which shall remain undisclosed) when she met Goodluck nearly 25 years ago. Their relationship was made private because of the risks it posed to Goodluck's then fledgling political career. He has decided to disclose this information after recently being informed by his mother, who had just passed away. It is his desire for his father to assume and fulfill his fatherly duties after a lifetime of absence."

Politics! Obasanjo Drums Support For Amosun, Neglects PDP’s Governorship Candidate

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has openly declared his support for APC’s governorship candidate, who is also the present Governor of Ogun State. This won’t be shocking to people who have been following Obasanjo’s statements in the last few months, as the one time president had earlier declared that he is just a PDP carrying card member.

Baba says Amosu has done too well for Ogun and everyone should come out to vote for him, refusing to campaign for PDP’s Ogun Governorship candidate. This is just the intro, read the full report by ThisDay after the cut. Do you think this is right? Should Baba just leave PDP already?

How Long Will Nigerians Remain Fools? Etcetera Writes

In Nigeria, there are three classes of people: The Masses, The Politicians, and The Rich. The masses are the puppets, the politicians the hand that controls the puppets and the rich the hand that controls the politicians. The politicians have the system totally rigged in their favour. They have made it compulsory for the masses to vote from a list selected by them knowing that as blind as the masses are, they may never realise they can actually have a choice.

In the upcoming presidential election, the masses have been given no choice but to choose between two candidates forced upon them by the politicians. What if Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan are not exactly what the masses want? Are we going to have recourse when they fail as they always do, to honour their promises?

I & My Husband Married As Virgins, And Mind You We Weren’t Clueless- Nikki Laoye

Nikki Laoye is still on her virgin spree talk! Nikki who once confessed she married has a virgin as revealed another shocker by declaring her husband was also a virgin too. She said though both of them had never experienced sex before marriage, the first night they made love, they weren’t clueless, Nikki says. Her words;

“My husband was not surprised that I was a virgin when we got married because he was also a virgin. Even though I was a virgin when I got married, I had equipped myself with information on sex education. I preach to Christian ladies that they should not think that because they are virgins, they should not find out how to get things done because when they get there, they have work to do. It has been fun and an adventure for us because we are finding out things about ourselves.”

I’m Not Sure If I Will Ever Re-Marry- Teddy Don Mommoh

Teddy Don Mommoh is still very hurt about his wife’s death and only God can heal him. Teddy says he is still not sure if he will re-marry in life because Kefee is still very much around him and lives in him. According to him, he still feels her presence and it hurts so much to know she is no longer here. It just hurts, he says.

“I can’t say if I will remarry because right now, I am still very much tied to Kefee; so I cannot speak on that now. I learnt from Kefee’s death that whatever you want to do in life should be done quickly. It is just one life and it is a short one. You do not own the next minute but this minute; so do all you can while you still breathe. Kefee lives on in me and in everybody.”

Why I Can’t Cancel My February 14 Show Because Of Nigerian Elections- Basket Mouth

Basket Mouth has stated why he cannot cancel his February 14 show billed to hold in London the same day Nigeria’s presidential elections will hold, despite people clamouring that the comedian must cancel the show and perform his civic duties by voting. Here’s the reason he stated to SaturdayBeats;

“This has been an annual show in the last six years. It is a franchise and it holds every Valentine’s Day in the UK regardless of the day it falls on. It has been happening for the past six years and the venue has been booked long ago. The tickets have been on sale long before it was announced that elections would hold on that day.

“Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about it because everything is ready and I have to go on with my show. The people talking about it apparently do not know that it is a franchise that has been on for about six years. I cannot cancel the show because of elections,” he said.

Politicians Are Liars- Pastor E.A Adeboye

The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Friday has said he does not trust politicians. Adeboye spoke in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, during a two-day interdenominational prayer.

According to the cleric, politicians in most cases hardly fulfil their promises. Adeboye illustrated his claim with the story of three travellers – an Indian, a Jew and a politician.

He said while the three men were travelling, they had a problem and went to a farmer for help, but the farmer said he could only accommodate two people.

Photo: Kenya Launches Ambulance Service For Security Forces

Kenya has launched its first national air ambulance service to evacuate security forces wounded in battle. President Uhuru Kenyatta said the service was vital to ensure they received swift treatment.

The initiative is likely to boost the morale of security personnel facing multiple threats, a BBC reporter says.

Some soldiers and policemen have bled to death or have died of dehydration in remote areas of Kenya because of long delays in getting them to hospital. The government has now reached a deal with the Red Cross and private firm AMREF Flying Doctors to despatch helicopters and vehicles as soon as distress calls are received.

The new evacuation service will also be offered to civil servants, especially those who work in the security field in rural areas with few medical facilities.

In all PDP and APC candidates got our attention and we bring you what they said after the cut plus photos from the debate.

Soyinka Denies Endorsing Any Candidate

Professor Wole Soyinka has warned those spreading rumours about him endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan and some governorship candidate should deceit from spreading the lies because he never for once endorsed any candidate. Soyinka stated this in a piece titled ‘Identity Thieves and the 2015 Election Peace Accord.’ His words;

“Let me thus seize the occasion of the Abuja accord to state categorically that I have never made a statement endorsing any presidential or governorship contestant. All such attributions are fabrications by faceless, often self-appointed agents of deception, and should be publicly pilloried.

“Whenever I choose to declare support for a candidate – as is my electoral right – I shall ensure that I deploy a medium that places my authorship beyond dispute,” he said.

I Am Embarrassed To Have Pres. Jonathan As My President - Gbenga Olorunpomi

For weeks, I had resisted the urge to write. So many landmark events have transpired in the last few weeks and despite the persistent prompting by two editors to put my opinion into words, I chose not to. I just wanted to clear my mind for the task ahead.

However, it took me less than a minute to make up my mind to pen some words after reading the unbelievable speech our president, Goodluck Jonathan, gave on the first day of the year. Now, Mr. President has a long repertoire of terrible choice of words. As a matter of fact, you could make a tidy bundle if you wrote a book exclusively on GEJisms. But, this one takes the cake, the baker and the bakery.

Afcon 2015: Congo & Burkina Faso Coaches Complain Bitterly, We Can't Find Hotels To Stay

Teams arriving at the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea have been forced to search for places to sleep because of a lack of hotel rooms. Congo coach Claude Le Roy said five of his 35-strong party attending the tournament did not have accommodation. He revealed that the hotel the bulk of his team are in lacks running water and has exposed electrical cables.

Burkina Faso coach Paul Put also criticised facilities, saying the event should have been delayed until June.

It will be recalled that Equatorial Guinea is staging the tournament at short notice because Morocco was stripped of the right in November due to Ebola outbreak in the country.

They however have to find a way of surviving because the tournament will start on Saturday to end on Sunday, 8 February. They still have three weeks to go. So unfortunate.

Ebola: New Cases Declining In West Africa

New Ebola cases in the three West African countries (Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone) worst affected by the deadly outbreak of the virus are declining, weekly UN figures show.

Sierra Leone and Guinea both recorded the lowest weekly total of confirmed Ebola cases since August. Liberia, which reported no new cases on two days last week, had its lowest weekly total since June.

The spirit of Freetown seem to be back with residents in the capital celebrating, albeit quietly, the low Ebola infection figures. For over a week the reported daily infections have been in single figures and on Tuesday there were only two deaths.

Liberia will conquer Ebola, a resident said.

Photo: LASSA Official Removing Ambode’s Governorship Posters In Lagos

Remember LASSA officials and the Lagos State police are at loggerheads over removal of political posters in the State? Well, the police partially believe that LASSA officials are only removing PDP’s posters and warned them to be fair to all parties.

But we can tell you for free that LASSA officials have been removing both APC posters and that of PDP placed at wrong places in the State.  A LASSA official was photographed (as seen in the picture above) removing a poster of Akinwunmi Ambode, the governorship candidate of APC. So it’s a fair task.

To An Icon At 70, Chief Dan Etete

The headmaster was once a school boy. True. Sometimes we really don’t want to remember. Probably because of some memories we want to let go. Don’t forget that what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger (please be informed that it might leave you with a scar too). We most times remember through the eyes and lips of our elders for things that pre-exist us.

I therefore remember the birth of a baby boy on the 10th of January, 1945 into a humble background and his name is ……………..Growing up, he had it good and he had it rough, life’s mixed fruity.
