Photos: Pope Francis Honours 43 Christians Burnt Alive In Uganda For Refusing To Renounce Their Faith

Up to two million people today turned out to see Pope Francis honour Ugandan Christian martyrs who were tortured and burned alive by a tyrant king.

Twenty-three Anglican and Twenty-Two Catholic martyrs were executed a century ago on the orders of King Mwanga II, of Buganda Kingdom in central Uganda. Their deaths between 1885 and 1887 were punishment for refusing to renounce their faith or submit to the ruler's alleged sexual advances.

During this morning's Mass, a somber Francis urged Catholics to follow in the Christians' missionary zeal and spread the faith at home and abroad.

7-Year Old Boy Shot On Doorstep Writes Saddest Ever Letter To Santa Appealing For Gunmen To Be Caught

This note written with a red felt tip pen looks at first glance like it could be any normal wish list from a young boy to Santa. But the first request from seven-year-old Christian Hickey says he wants Father Christmas to “help the police catch the people who hurt me”.

The lad’s moving plea refers to the gangsters who shot him in the leg.

Christian and his mum Jayne, 30, were gunned down last month when they answered their front door. The boy – now recovering at home after extensive treatment in hospital – also asked Santa for goodies such as Match Attax cards, a remote control helicopter, and video games including Fifa 16, and Jurassic World.

Officers revealed the letter yesterday as they appealed again for assistance in the hunt for the two gunmen who struck in Salford.

Goat Put In Tiger's Den For Lunch Kicks Him Out Of His Bed

                                                                   The new  best friends

The unlikely friendship blossomed at the Far Eastern Safari Park at Shkotovsky, in the Primorsky region.

Interesting! Etcetera Calls Out Buhari, APC, INEC Over Nigeria

Oga ju! Read… It is beginning to unfold how risky and dangerous it is for Nigeria that Buhari doubles as president and the petroleum minister. As the president, he already has too much on his plate with too many issues pulling the country towards collapse.

From the north, Boko Haram is threatening to drag the whole country down a cliff, and if nothing is done pretty soon, we are going to have a situation in our hands with the Biafra movement. It is already a keg of gunpowder waiting to explode in our faces. The business of armed robbery has never been as lucrative as it is today.

The economy is another area that calls for the president’s urgent attention. But what do we have? A president who has more-or-less assumed the role of a jack of all trade while doing nothing in particular. The president should resign as the minister of petroleum immediately if we are ever going to have sanity in the petroleum industry.

Audu built all the institutions that exist in the state today,” he said while speaking during a late show on the African Independent Television .
