The of trade unions expressed regret over the delay in the payment of deductions despite the agreement reached with the government at the stakeholders’ meeting of May 9, 2016.
The workers according to the statement took the decision at its meeting of May 16, 2016 held in Ado Ekiti.
The statement said: “It must be noted that the state government has collected state allocation for the period of December, 2015 , January, 2016 , February and March , 2016 with internally generated revenue inclusive and yet government is running away from its responsibility on payment of workers’ monthly gross salary , which is far from our expectation from a worker friendly governor.
“In view of this, we are constrained to request for the payment of the 2015 December workers’ deduction within 24hours, so as to avoid industrial unrest in Ekiti State”, it concluded
