We should always try our best in any situation we find ourselves. My fame is natural, if it was to be sacramental, i am sure it must have faded out by now. I came to stardom in 1991, in 1992 I could no longer take public bus again and I was still working under water corporation as at that time, a cab will come and pick me at home in the morning and return me at night. So if God can still did it from then till now, common I am blessed with love,” he said.

The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase has said the time has come for police officers to take over liberated areas in the North-East from the military as part of measures to restore peace and normalcy in the region.

Speaking at a roundtable meeting with strategic stakeholders on security in the North-East on Thursday in Abuja, Arase said with the increasing successes of the military, the time had come for the police to play its lead role in restoring civil authority in the war-torn areas.

He said, “I want to state that the unstable situation and wide range conflict created in the North-East has greatly denied citizens in the affected areas of the security which they constitutionally deserved to enjoy and it is for this reason that the Nigeria Police Force is evolving operational strategies that will lead to the restoration of police primacy and restoration of civil authority in the North-East. Of course, I will not just post Police personnel to the North-East without first ensuring their safety and provision of adequate welfare. That is why we have already sent the Deputy Inspector-General of Police,  Operations to go beforehand and ensure adequate preparations towards the taking over of the place by the Police,” he said.

They had also argued that the death penalty was too severe a punishment for the crime. Both arguments were however rejected.
