When Erin McKelvey applied for a job in the tech industry after finishing college in the mid-1990s, she got zero response. So she consulted a friend, who offered some advice.
The friend had run into the same issue and had decided to shorten her name, Alexandra, to the more gender-neutral “Alex” on her resume. “Alex” received a much better response from prospective employers and the move ultimately led to a job at a global insurance holding company.
Inspired by her friend’s experience, McKelvey came up with a nickname for herself—Mack, a shortened version of her last name—and used it as her first name on her resume.

It seems you have a tattoo?
Yes I do.
Do you have plans of getting more?
No, that was youthful exuberance. I got the tattoo before I became an actress. When I was in UNILAG, there was a woman who owned a boutique in school and she wanted me to be the face of the boutique. We were taking pictures when a guy that had a tattoo shop there told me that if I had a tiny tattoo somewhere on my body, it would fit me especially if I wore a spaghetti top. That was when I did it and I regret it now.
“When we released ‘Alanta,’ we slowed down because of marriage but that is natural. We also thought of diversifying and see what we could do apart from music to make money. That was what made us slow down but we did some music afterwards. We met our wives before we released ‘Alanta’ and they have been enduring with us before that song, so that made it a lot easier. If they were ladies that we met after ‘Alanta,’ we can’t tell what would have become of the marriage now because it would have been obvious that they came for the fame. These two ladies are people who have been with us before the mega hit and the big money. I remember there was a time we used to live in a self-contained apartment in Surulere and these ladies used to come around. They believed in us and did not forsake us.”

An investigation is ongoing, but police credited the singer’s brother with preventing the gunman from hurting others.
“Sometimes it gets lonely because there is nobody to talk to. Not that there are no men but because of all the hurts and disappointment I have been through, it is not easy trusting again. Like I say to some of my friends, it is no longer as easy as it used to be for me to trust a man again. Dating is easy but being in a proper relationship is very difficult. Once beaten, twice shy. It is so hard for me to trust someone, to know if he is coming for good and he is not going to betray my trust and hurt me. It is hard that I don’t have a friend even though there are so many men out there. Continue....

But then they spotted Ksenia who was asked if she would strip for the iPhone 5s.
