A former Premier league star was caught up in a powerful earthquake which hit close to Turkish resorts popular with British holidaymakers .
The powerful 6.7 magnitude tremor happened in Mugla Province close to resorts such as Marmaris and Bodrum and also resulted in a small tsunami.
The quake, which struck at 1:31 am local time was located off the southwestern coastal city of Marmaris. It was close to the Turkish town of Bodrum and the Greek island of Kos .
Ex-footballer Kevin McNaughton was near the town of Dalaman when the earthquake hit.
The ex-Bolton Wanderers and Wigan defender tweeted: “Jesus, just experienced earthquake in
Turkey, literally c****ed myself, room shaking all over the place. Just stood outside not sure what to do.”
