There had been calls for a “day of rage”, but the overwhelming mood of the hundreds of thousands who poured into the streets of Harare today was one of celebration at what they are convinced is deliverance at last from the rule of Robert Mugabe.
The course of Zimbabwe’s slow-motion coup has been difficult to chart, with Africa’s longest-serving head of state seemingly determined to cling on to power despite the military taking over and branches of his own ruling party passing motions of no confidence. But the vast turnout in the capital was a resounding popular vote marking what looks like a point of no return for the 93-year-old president.

Banky W's Birthday Message To Peter & Paul
Oh dear, Banky is such a good writer, enjoy!
Which do you prefer?
I just got back to Nigeria recently, after the better part of 4 months away. Naturally, one of the things I missed the most while being away was the food. So I tried going to one of my favourite African restaurants to order some. Everything seemed normal until I tried to place an order. I asked for beans and plantain... the waiter said I could have one or the other, but not the two at the same time. I was confused. I decided to go for Jollof rice and chicken. Same story. Pounded yam and Egusi??? No, sorry, it's either pounded yam OR Egusi.. not both together. I was actually at a loss for words. This didn't make sense to me, at all. The waiter then tried to explain.. using words like "change", "growth" and "trying a new direction". But I didn't and still don't understand.

Life Goes On Despite AFRIMA’s Nomination Snub – Small Doctor
With the popularity, acceptance and rave that accompanied the release of Small Doctor’s 2016 hit song, ‘Penalty’, one would want to assume with all certainty that he’s a sure candidate for award nominations in 2017; but that is far from being the case.
On the heels of the just concluded All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, the self styled ‘king of the streets’ has expressed indifference on his inability to secure a nomination at the prestigious awards.
Speaking to Showtime in an exclusive chat he noted that being nominated or not for an award of AFRIMA’s pedigree is not a big deal as long as he is still making waves as a musician.

Dammy Krane, Small Doctor Also Copied Me, Sir Victor Uwaifo Should Understand –Jaywon
Singer Jaywon has said though the title of his Joromi song can be linked to Sir Victor Uwaifo, the body and beat can't be linked to him, but he will for the sake of respect he has for him credit the song to him. Jaywon says he is also a victim of intellectual theft, saying Dammy Krane, Small Doctor and few other artistes have not only stolen the titles of his songs,they have also taken without permission some of his real songs. Recall the veteran musician came out to accuse two singers, Jaywon and Simi, of pirating his song without his permission. Well here's what Jaywon told Saturday Beats;
“There is no way I can talk about my hit song, Joromi, without talking about Sir Victor Uwaifo, who we all grew up listening to his music. The whole idea of the song is different from Sir Victor Uwaifo’s but the title reminds anyone of his song. I cannot take away the fact that his song inspired mine. I felt that I should tap into the current beat making rounds in Africa with the song. My song is a love song and I also saw it as an opportunity to promote my artiste, Twist da Fireman, who was also on the song. He added a different sound to the song. I am happy everyone loves the song. I keep working because it is difficult to know the song people would love, so I keep working till I get it right.

How Lagos Big Boy, Osula’s Police Security Beat Man To A Pulp
Up until the evening of Wednesday, November 15, 2017, perhaps all that Mr. Olugbenga Adekoya had seen about the brutality and cruelty of some Nigerian policemen against innocent citizens were the ones he read in the papers or the ones he saw on the television.
But that evening, Adekoya, an entrepreneur who preferred to be called a carpenter, almost lost his life with the way he was thoroughly dealt with by some policemen allegedly guarding Julian Osula, a businessman who deals in selling luxury items, like wristwatches.
Adekoya’s wife, Oluremi, who narrated the incident to a Punch correspondent on Friday, sounded deeply troubled on the telephone, saying it was only by the grace of God that her darling husband was still alive.

Emmanuel Adebayor Reveals He Was Left Feeling Suicidal 'Many Times' By His Manipulative Family
Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed he was driven to suicidal thoughts because of the way in which his family attempted to manipulate money out of him.

Having come from an impoverished background in the West African country of Togo, Adebayor's wealth has seen him become the breadwinner for his extended family and that appears to have lead to a complete breakdown in their relationship.
The 33-year-old claimed to have always wanted to lift his family from poverty, but was forced into a deep depression after they continued to 'oppose' him despite his efforts.
