LASUTH Consultant Doctors Set To Go On Strike

Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria, LASUTH branch, are demanding the implementation of the 2014 consolidated medical salary and hence will go on strike.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos yesterday, Dr Adekunle Adebayo, the Chairman of the association, said they would embark on a three-day warning strike from 8:00 am on Wednesday to 4:00 pm on Friday.

Adebayo said Governor Akinwumi Ambode approved the implementation of the CONMESS in January 2018 for all the doctors employed under the Lagos State Government but a segment of the doctors working in LASUTH had been left out of the payment arrangement.

“MDCAN has had several meetings and consultations with stakeholders in the health sectors, numerous letters have also been written but all these attempts have met a brick wall,” Adebayo said.
