New One! The iphones Whatsapp Can Only Work On

WhatsApp is apparently no longer available for people using an iPhone 4, as the company ends support for iOS version 7.

The company had previously explained in the blog post that it would continue to support iOS 7 until 2020. But a new version of the app will only work on devices with iOS 8 or later installed.

This won't affect people who already have WhatsApp installed as it should continue to function until that 2020 cutoff date. However, if you wipe your phone you won't be able to reinstall the app.

It's also possible that some features may stop working for users on old versions. They will certainly not get any new features that the company adds into its popular messaging app.

The move would also affect anyone who owns an iPhone 4S, 5, 5C or 5S if they'd never updated their phone to a later version of iOS.

Apple's iPhone 4 came out in 2010 and Apple stopped selling the device in 2013. The last version of iOS it is able to run is 7.1.2.

Later phones, like the iPhone 4S and 5, can run more recent versions of iOS and shouldn't be affected.

WhatsApp routinely ends support for devices, back in 2016 the company announced that older Blackberry phones and handsets running Nokia's S60 operating system wouldn't be supported from 2017.
