A former Detroit Lions defensive back beat up a man he said he found masturbating outside his daughter’s window in Florida.
Tony Beckham told WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach that he found a man with his pants undone and fondling himself while leering into his 15-year-old daughter’s room after she had showered Monday morning. That’s when Beckham reacted.
He told the TV station he yelled at the man, who tried to run away. After chasing him down in the apartment complex’s parking lot, Beckham said the two “had a good conversation.”
That conversation resulted in several broken facial bones for Geoffrey Cassidy, 48.
Beckham’s wife, Amanda, told WPBF she called police, who arrested Cassidy for lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim younger than 16 years old. He’s being held in Palm Beach County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
WPLG-TV in Miami reported that police first took Cassidy to the hospital to treat his injuries. He reportedly denied the s-xual act, saying he was in the neighborhood because his car broke down and he was waiting for it to cool.
Beckham, 40, was drafted in the fourth round in 2002 by the Tennessee Titans. He was there until 2005 and played for the Lions in 2007, his final NFL season.
