Femi Otedola fulfills Super Eagles $25,000 promise

Billionairel Femi Otedola has paid the sum of $25,000 he promised the Super Eagles during the just concluded 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This was confirmed in a statement released by the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday.

Otedola made the promise to pay $25,000 for each goal scored by the Super Eagles prior to their semi-final match against Algeria.

All thanks to Odion Jude Ighalo who ensured the Eagles are now $25,000 richer after scoring a 72nd-minute penalty to cancel William Troost-Ekong’s 40th-minute own goal.

The match was much stable at 1-1 but Eagles failed to keep their head up as they conceded a late goal courtesy of Mahrez’s educated left-footed freekick.
