Cross River REC resigns with INEC to join governorship race in Bayelsa

The Cross River Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Frankland Briyai today resigned his appointment with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to join the Bayelsa governorship race.

Briyai who served as Cross River REC from 2017 until his retirement said he left his job to contest for the governorship of his state, following calls from the people on him to run in the Nov. 16, governorship election.

He disclosed that after critically considering their demand, he decided to heed their call to selfless service that had always been his lifestyle.
