Photos: Digger driver arrested after smashing boss's £80,000 Range Rover

A disgruntled digger driver has smashed his boss' car with a 25 tonne excavator.

The employee was arrested by police after he allegedly targeted a £80,000 Range Rover Sport at his workplace in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on Saturday.

Witnesses claimed he drove across on his caterpillar tracks and smashed the huge metal shovel into one of the company’s lorry cabs.

His boss, Thomas Crompton, was able to disable the digger before the rampage could continue, according to claims.

“We are not open to the public on Saturdays but there were workers carrying out maintenance on the vehicles and there was a real danger to life.

The videos, which have gone viral, show Mr Crompton’s sister Margaret running towards the moving digger gesturing for the employee to stop.

Mr Crompton was able to reach the dead man's handle in the cab and disable the vehicle.

“We feel sad at what he’s done.

“The whole company is in shock and there is a sense of anger and upset.”
