Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Turkey will return a million Syrian refugees to Syria in the first stage, and two million in the second.
“God forbid in a very short time, leading to a safe state of our border to Iraq, the first phase will return a million, the second – two million refugees”, – Erdogan said during a speech at the summit of the cooperation Council of Turkic States in Baku.
On October 9, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced the launch of Operation Source of Peace in northern Syria against the Kurdistan Workers Party and the Islamic State terrorist group. Turkish aviation attacked the city of Ras al-Ain and a number of other Syrian cities on the border of the two countries on the same day. Later it was announced the beginning of the ground part of the operation.
