George Michael’s ex Fadi Fawaz 'banned from funeral of singer's sister Melanie'

George Michael's ex Fadi Fawaz has reportedly been told to 'stay away from the funeral of the singer's sister'.

The former boyfriend of Wham! star George has a strained relationship with the family of the late singer, especially after entering a legal fight over his claim on a share of his £98million estate.

It is thought that he has sent his condolences after hearing about the passing of 55-year-old Melanie Panayiotou after she was found dead on Christmas Day, three years to the day that George died, aged 53.

The relationship between Fadi and George's family came to a head after he was arrested for suspected criminal damage in July, after squatting in the his former lover's £5million mansion.

A source told The Sun that Fadi had done "nothing but elevate the stress and sadness following George’s death."

It is thought that his actions were particularly upsetting for Melanie.

The source added that "it made the family’s decision to snub him a simple one," and that they "want to mourn her without distraction."

Melanie is expected to be laid to rest in the same plot as George and their mother Lesley at Highgate Cemetery after she was found dead at her Hampstead home by 57-year-old sister, Yioda.
