Covid-19: ‘Juma’at prayer to hold at National Mosque’

The Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NCSIA) said yesterday that there would be Friday congregation prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja.

The Deputy Secretary General of the council, Prof. Salisu Shehu, told newsmen at the NSCIA secretariat that other social activities would go on as scheduled but may be reviewed when necessary.

According to him, with the way things were going, it was expected that government would take serious measures and when those serious measures were taken, they would comply.

“We would not force those that have already decided to suspend Juma’at prayers but at the level of national mosque, that measure would not be taken because we are still observing the progression of the situation,” he said.
