Covid-19 patients in Gombe protest over inadequate medical attention, block highway, destroy properties [photos]

Some covid-19 patients at the Kwadon Isolation Centre, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, today blocked the popular Gombe/ Biu Road.

The patients were said to be protesting against government's negligence, inadequate food and medical attention in the isolation centre.

A resident of the community, who spoke with SaharaReporters, said, “Yes, they have left the isolation center and are presently destroying people’s properties on the main highway.

"It’s so sad, what could have led these patients into protesting against the government? I think government is not being truthful.”

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Gombe State currently has 96 confirmed cases of the virus.

  1. This shows something is not right. If they are truly sick, they won't have the strength for protest. Is Gombe's 96 confirmed cases a scam

  2. Only in Nigeria. So they want to infect others or what? Are they not supposed to be fighting for their survivals? Where is the police when you need them to use their guns

  4. No kind of treatment, food and other live saving thing for the poor. This is what will happen if they want to pronounce lockdown again

  5. It's obvious that they don't have the virus. Northerners will always play politics with everything just to collect money. All the census conducted in Nigeria were all inflated by the northerners.
