Florence Ita-Giwa who represented Cross River South Senatorial District in the Senate, has gone on her kneels appealing to Nigerians particularly Cross River indegenes to stop the destruction of properties in the State.

On Saturday, 24th of October, angry youths had come out in their numbers and destroyed houses belonging to former senate leader, Ndoma Egba and Senator Bassey Gershom.

While appealing to the youths, the former Senator spoke in her native language.

Twitter user, @__gershom, who shared the video, translated her words thus;

“I know we have wronged you. The generation of today has suffered. The big people have wronged you. Nigerian politics has failed you. But please forgive us. Forgive the big people. Forgive the politicians”

  1. Let noone here insult this woman. She remains one of the very few who was a true grassroot politician. She was always with her people throughput her time as an active politician. She fought for the cross River people. She fought for her Bakassi people. If half of our politicians could be like her, Nigeria won't be where it is.
