Nigerians are accusing Carol, a senior police officer of killing Momodu Ibrahim, a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in May 2013.
They also called on the federal government and the Nigeria Police to arrest and probe Carol.

Nigerian Army to commence Operation Crocodile Smile Nationwide October 20
According to a press release by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, the exercise which is traditionally conducted in the last quarter of the year, will hold this year from October 20 to December 31.
This year’s nationwide operation is however coming at a time Nigerian youths are staging #EndSARS protests around the country to protest police brutality.
He said this year’s exercise, Crocodile Smile VI, is deliberately intended to be all encompassing to include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace.

Dolapo Badmus denies being demoted by the Police Force
Reports had emerged on Saturday that Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Abayomi Shogunle and Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Dolapo Badmus have been demoted.
Reacting on her Twitter page, Badmus said the reports were fake.
She tweeted, “Ignore Fake News.
“Whoever slotted my name in that list is a joker. I will forever respect people’s human rights, my name will never be put up as one who has violated another’s right.”
Sanwo-Olu visits widow of man shot dead at surulere protest
The governor assured the widow, Ngozi, of justice, saying that he had come with the Attorney General, Moyosore Onigbanjo to ensure that the family got justice.
The governor told the Attorney General to take over the case immediately to ensure justice was done.
The governor also visited the home where Okechukwu, 55, worked as a driver to his boss.

In Filani’s case, her younger brother, Olatunbosun Filani, was allegedly murdered by police officers in Abeokuta, Ogun state in 2010.
According to Mosunmola, she had to search for his corpse from one mortuary to the other.

Okay! CBN denies its official website was not hacked
The apex bank in a statement on its Twitter page maintained that contrary to reports, its website was safe.
The statement reads, “Contrary to claims on social media alleging that the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria has been breached by malicious persons, we wish to state categorically that our website is secure.
“We also wish to advise the online community to desist from peddling fake news aimed at undermining the integrity of the CBN, which is our collective asset.”
Covid-19 cases increases in Lagos and Oyo state
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, releases 212 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, with Lagos raking in 85 cases while Oyo posted 72 new cases.
So far, Nigeria has 61,194 confirmed cases of the virus, with 52,304 survivors discharged and 1,119 deaths recorded.
The 212 cases is far higher than the 148 cases recorded in Nigeria on Thursday.

17 students test positive for covid-19 in Kaduna University
Like other institutions in the state, KASU has been shut for several months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, ASUU-KASU chapter said it is not yet safe to reopen the institution because of the fear that students might contract the virus as they will mingle freely among themselves during school hours.

One dead as driver rams car into Ondo #EndSARS protesters
It was gathered that the incident happened in front of the Ondo State Governor’s Office, in the Alagbaka area of Akure on Thursday.
The accident involved a Toyota Camry with a number plate, LND 778 GL, and two commercial motorcycles.

Lagos Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said the cases were discovered during surveillance and case investigation in the school.
Giving details of the investigation, Abayomi explained that a 14-year-old SS1 female student fell ill on October 3 and was sent home after receiving first aid at the school.
He added the student subsequently tested positive on October 6 in one of the accredited private labs in Lagos.

It was learnt the protesters had converged on Ring Road, when hoodlums, who accused the protesters of preventing them from making money from daily issuance of tickets to commercial drivers, swooped on them with guns and machetes.
They dispersed the protesters after killing two of them.
