The Emir of Bichi, Nasir Ado Bayero says he has mixed feelings about his daughter, Zahra getting married to President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf.
Two months ago, some Governors visited the traditional ruler’s elder brother and the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero to formalize plans for the union.
The Kano monarch emerged after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje dethroned Muhammadu Sanusi.
The Bichi Emir commented on his relationship with Zahra in an interview with Daily Trust.
He disclosed that it was a difficult decision to marry her off because of their closeness.
The Emir said he wanted the bride to complete her tertiary education while under him.
“Sending away Zahra is also an issue for me, but we thank God. She’s a young girl, only 20; and she’s in her final year in the university studying architecture.
“I would have loved for Zahra to stay and finish her school and live with me a little longer, but we cannot change what God has ordained.”
The Emir wished the couple a successful married life.
Bayero added that anyone able to successfully raise three daughters and watch them marry will have a place in paradise.
