Gunmen kidnap ex-Local Govt Chairman in Cross River..
Unknown gunmen yesterday abducted Obol Ubi Itam Ettah in Ugep, Yakurr Local government area, where he served as two-term Chairman.
The ex-chairman who served from 2007-2013 was abducted at his grilling station in Wenwon Muka in Ugep, a few days to the annual ale Oku festival.
According to sources, “Bomboi” as he was fondly called was whisked away by five gunmen wielding AK 47’s.
Obol Etta was a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party, who was in charge of the Ekori Paradise Toothpick Factory constructed by the Cross River State Government and later defected to the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) to contest for the seat of the Senator representing central Cross River at the National Assembly.
He later defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is said to have left back to the People’s Democratic Party recently after the Governor, Benedict Ayade was railroaded into joining the APC.
