Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson reacts with shock to viral police officer who is his doppelgänger
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has reacted with shock to the police officer who went viral over his uncanny resemblance to the star.
The 49-year-old took to Twitter to comment after seeing his the viral picture of his doppelgänger, Alabama police officer Eric Fields.
Comparisons between the Hollywood star and the law enforcement officer began earlier this month, after a photo was uploaded to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
The snap showed Eric leaning against a van in his uniform grinning at the camera alongside a near identical picture of the Rock with his trademark biceps on display.
The pic soon found its way to TikTok with one woman pleading with fans to notice the resemblance.
“I really don’t think y’all are ready for this because this is insane. Look at him. You can not tell me that is not Mr Dwayne,” she joked. “Dwayne The Rock Johnson. It’s him.”
News of the his lookalike has finally reached the star himself, and he tweeted out the photo with the caption: “Oh s**t! Wow. Guy on the left is way cooler.
“Stay safe brother and thank you for your service. One day we’ll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your ‘Rock stories’ because I KNOW you got ‘em.”
Eric responded with a picture of him glaring at the camera with a bottle of The Rock’s own brand Teremana tequila in his hand, and wrote: “Thanks brother & cheers.”
The 37-year-old has been with the Morgan County Sheriff County department for almost 20 years.
“I’m a bit of a cross between The Rock and Vin Diesel. Remember, The Rock is 6ft 4in and 260lbs, and I’m only 6ft 2in and 230lbs,” he told local news website alabama.com.
He added that he will happily take photos with people who have mistaken him for the famous actor.
“I don’t want to disappoint anybody. I walk up one day and at a different angle, I don’t know. It’s flattering, but it’s also a little nerve-racking as far as what others expect I guess,” Eric explained.
“I just plan on being me. I’ll cut up. I’m a big cut-up. If it comes up and somebody says that, I’ll play along. I really couldn’t be anybody but me. I’m just glad I could be part of someone’s happiness and laughter.”
