Socialite Olakunle Churchill, has said he will give to others till he died. The businessman opened up on why he gives scholarships to underprivileged students in a brief chat with Saturday Beats.
Churchill who is now married to actress Rosaline Meurer said, “Giving is a trait I got from my grandmother and my late dad. My late dad was a philanthropist and a man who cared for the nation. For me, being a philanthropist is like being a missionary. It’s like doing God’s work. We want to empower 500 students every year.
“At times, we don’t meet up to the target but it depends on what we have available because we are into different projects, as well.
We give out scholarships yearly to primary, secondary and university students. I feel happy and fulfilled giving.
”I want to keep giving till I leave the face of the earth.
As long as I am alive, I would continue, this is what God has sent me to do. My wife has been very supportive of my philanthropic causes. She is someone I have trained over the years; she was once my ambassador for ‘Mother and Child’. Now, she has to be part of everything I do. Once I am there, she has to be beside me.”
