Prophet Okikijesu reveals how Osinbajo may take over Buhari’s position in 2021

Apostle Paul Okikijesu of the Christ Apostolic Miracle Ministry, has prophesied that President Muhammadu Buhari may not continue in power till the end of 2021.

He said that Buhari needs prayers, else Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will suddenly take over from him like the case of Musa Ya’Radua and Goodluck Jonathan in May, 2010.

“Thus saith the Lord: People should pray seriously for him [Buhari], so that when the looming crisis bursts, it will not be out of his control, and harm this man,” he said in a series of prophecies to Daily Post on Saturday.

“People should still pray for him because he is their President, so that the crown will not be taken away from him and given to his neighbor who is better than him.

A blood-soaked n*ked man spotted by neighbours 'wrapped in intestines carrying his father's severed head' while walking the streets has been arrested in Ukraine.  

The witnesses claim they saw Dmitry Ponomarenko, 30, leave his flat covered in blood and carrying the head of his 53-year-old father Igor Ponomarenko.

As he watched in horror, one neighbour said the n*ked man calmly sat down on a bench in the town of Odessa, southern Ukraine, and lit a cigarette.

Man throws girlfriend down from five-storey building

A 37 years old man on Saturday in Awada, a densely populated part of Onitsha, Anambra State allegedly threw his girlfriend down a five-floor building after a disagreement.

DailyPost gathered that the incident happened at about 3am in a residential building where the suspect whose name was given as Nonso Eze is also a tenant.

CSP Haruna Mohammed, spokesperson for Anambra State Police Command who disclosed this to dailypost correspondent said, “On 23/1/2021 at about 6:30am, there was a report at the Awada Police Station that on the same day at about 3:am a girl of about 23years old, whose name and address is yet unknown fell down from the 5th floor of a five-storey building at N0.6 Orakwe close, fizzle Awada Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.”

IGP orders arrest of Sunday Igboho over eviction notice

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, over an eviction order on Fulanis in Oyo State.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed this in an interview with BBC Hausa.

He told BBC Hausa the IGP told him on the phone order had been given to the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Ngozi Onadeko, to arrest Igboho immediately and transfer him to Abuja.

Igboho had ordered herdsmen in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave within seven days, attributing the spate of banditry and killings in the area to them.

Lagos Waste Management Authority worker falls, dies on duty

An official of the Lagos Waste Management Authority, Mr. Nasiru Saheed, on Saturday, fell from the machine he was operating and died on the spot.

The Punch gathered that the LAWMA employee died accidentally on duty on Alexander Road in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

A video showing Saheed in a pool of his blood had surfaced on social media before LAWMA confirmed the incident.

The waste management agency in a series of tweets lamented its worker’s death, saying, “LAWMA with a deep sense of regret, announces the death in an accident of one of our waste handlers (Mr. Nasiru Saheed) this morning.

Calabar: Hotel harbouring suspected kidnappers demolished

A hotel that allegedly served as a hideout for suspected kidnappers has been demolished by the Cross River State Government security outfit ‘Operation Akpakwu’.

The ‘Save side hotel’ located at 8 Miles area in Calabar Municipality was allegedly harbouring suspected kidnappers terrorising the state.

Speaking after the demolition at the weekend, the State Security Adviser, South, to Governor Ben Ayade, Mr Henry Okokon, alleged that most of the kidnap cases carried out in Calabar were planned and coordinated from the hotel.

He said the Homeland Security bill which was signed into law by Governor Ayade clearly stated that “anybody who aids, abets and harbours a criminal is also guilty of the crime.”

Former CNN presenter, Larry King, who became an icon through his interviews with countless newsmakers has died at 87.

Recall that King was earlier hospitalized after testing positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease.

A statement released by his family said the 87-year-old was hospitalized at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

However, his son Chance in a statement released on Saturday morning confirmed that his father has passed away.

Woman who stole a month-old baby and lied to husband she’d been pregnant arrested

Police have finally caught up with a woman who allegedly stole a baby from her mother at a salon in Rodi Kopany in Homa Bay County and lied to her husband that she had been pregnant and given birth.

In a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), the suspect, Ms. Bella Achieng Ogolla, had met the mother of the baby days before she gave birth.

“Detectives are still trying to figure out how she managed to convince her 42-year-old husband identified as Benard Akello that she was pregnant all along and had finally bore him a son,” the statement read in part.

The woman was nabbed by detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau and officers from the Child Protection Unit.


Woman arrested after boyfriend dies in lodging while with her

A middle-aged man from Mwanza in Tanzania died on Monday, January 18 while spending time with his longtime lover in a lodging facility, Mwanza Regional Police Commander Jumanne Muliro says.

The incident happened at Fimbo Lodge in Ilemela in Mwanza Region.

The owner of the lodging facility, Christopher Lyang’ombe, confirmed the incident to Mwananchi Newspaper, directing the publication to seek more information from authorities in Mwanza Region.

Mwanza Regional police boss, Jumanne, said law enforcement officers are holding in custody the woman who was with the now-deceased in the guest room.

Some angry youths have set ablaze the house of the Seriki Fulani of Oyo State, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir.

Daily Post gathered that the house was set ablaze in Igangan town in Ibarapa North Local government area of the State on Friday.

It was learnt that about eleven cars were also set ablaze during the incident.

It was gathered that the house was set ablaze few hours after the visit of Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho to the town.

Nairobi: Man ties girlfriend to bed, sets her body on fire in gruesome murder

Police in Nairobi have launched a hunt for a middle-aged man who on Thursday morning killed his girlfriend and set her body on fire.

Margaret Muchemi, a resident of Njiru in Kasarani Sub-County, Kenya had invited her estranged boyfriend to her home to “iron out their differences”.

Muchemi, who had medical training, operated a private clinic in Mwiki, Kasarani.

The suspect, who was carrying a backpack, arrived at the deceased’s home at around 8am Thursday, Muchemi’s two house-helps, Damaris Nyamusi and Zainab Naila, told K24 Digital.

Several feared dead in Delta gas plant explosion

Yet to be ascertained number of persons were feared dead with many others injured from the explosion at a gas plant in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South local government area of Delta state late Friday.

The tragic incident reportedly occurred at the popular Osadebe Gas plant along the Lagos-Asaba Expressway.

While the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained, eyewitnesses said it resulted in huge destruction in the environment.

According to eyewitnesses, several houses near the gas plant were reduced to ashes by the fire from the explosion.

Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo -Sunday Igboho has dared Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde to arrest him for ordering Fulani herdsmen to leave Ibarapa.

Tipper driver crushes cyclist to death in Anambra

A commercial motorcyclist was on Friday crushed to death by an articulated truck in Umuazu Nteje in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state.

The crash which occurred around 11.10am involved a Mercedes Benz tipper and the motorcycle.

The Nation gathered that the deceased was knocked down while crossing the road.

A 10-year-old girl, Antonella Sicomero, has accidentally choked herself to death in Italy.

According to reports in Italy, the incident happened while she was taking part in a terrifying TikTok challenge.

NCDC confirms 1,483 new Covid-19 cases, total now 118,138

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1,964 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 118,138.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Friday.

“On the 22nd of January 2021, 1483 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

Till date, 118138 cases have been confirmed, 94150 cases have been discharged and 1490 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 1483 new cases are reported from 23 states- Kaduna (545), FCT (235), Plateau (127), Nasarawa (80), Oyo (72), Delta (65), Rivers (64), Kano (46), Ogun (46), Bayelsa (30), Gombe (30), Abia (28), Osun (27), Edo (25), Ondo (14), Sokoto (12), Zamfara (10), Bauchi (8), Imo (5), Jigawa (4), Ekiti (4), Borno (4) and Niger (2),” the NCDC said.


Dangote maintains 1st position in Africa billionaires’ list

Aliko Dangote of Nigeria has maintained his position as Africa’s richest person for 10 consecutive years, according to the 2021 Forbes’ Africa Billionaires List released on Friday.

Also, the Chairman of telecommunications giant Globacom Mike Adenuga has been placed fifth position, while Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA Group ranked sixth richest person in Africa.

Nigeria had three persons on the list while South Africa and Egypt each had five billionaires, followed by Morocco with two.

Forbes stated that the continent’s 18 billionaires were worth an average $4.1bn, 12 per cent more than a year ago, driven in part by Nigeria’s surging stock market.

Man found dead in his car in Lagos [photos]

A lone driver was found dead behind the wheels in his car along CMD Road, Magodo, in Lagos on Friday.

The Director General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency ( LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, made the disclosure at the scene of the incident in Lagos.

Oke-Osanyintolu said that the agency’s paramedic team responded to a distress call and upon arrival, met a lone driver slumped at the wheel.

He said that when the patient’s vital signs were checked, pulse was absent, pupils were fixed and dilated, the patient was dead already.

Young man takes his own life in Kaduna state

A 22-year-old man, Abdullahi Musa resident in Aboro, Sanga local government of Kaduna state has allegedly committed suicide. 

His lifeless body was discovered dangling on high tension electric pole by passersby in the early hours of Friday. He was believed to have died Thursday night.

The Chairman, Sanga Local Government Council, Mr Charles Danladi who confirmed the report to Daily Trust said the Councillor representing the area, Mallam Dahiru Yunusa Aboro briefed him about the sad incident.

Mysterious fire raze down 18 houses in Otukpo community

No fewer than 18 buildings and property worth millions of Naira were on Friday razed in a mysterious fire outbreak at Akwete community in Alan Akpa ward of Otukpo Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state. 

The disaster which also left several families homeless and in dire need of support and assistance razed several food barns and farms in the community. 

Vanguard gathered from an eyewitness that the fire which started morning was reportedly ignited by unknown persons who set grasses on fire in the community probably to catch grasscutters. 

“We do not know the people who ignited the fire but they probably set fire on the bushes in order to catch grasscutters because this is the season but the fire went out of control and they ran away.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ordered the Police to arrest Sunday Igboho and others over their quit notice to fulanis.

On Friday, Igboho went to Igangan to retstae his ultimatum to Fulanis to leave.

Igangan is a community in Ibarapa North Local Government Area.

The activist had accused the Fulani of perpetrating murders and kidnappings.

Makinde declared that his government would not allow anyone hiding under the guise of protecting Yoruba interests to cause ethnic tension and perpetrate crisis.

Non-academic workers at Nigerian universities begin indefinite strike February 5

The non-academic workers at Nigerian universities have announced plans to commence an indefinite strike on February 5, 2021.

The Joint Action Committee of NASU and SSANU made this known in a communique on Friday.

Part of the communique read, “It is in line with the resolution of our members nationwide, that the leadership of the Joint Action Committee of NASU and SSANU hereby resolve as follows:

“That members of NASU and SSANU shall embark on an indefinite, comprehensive and total strike with effect from midnight of Friday, 5th February 2021.

Banky W, a Nigerian singer cum politician, says the insistence on enrollment for national identity number (NIN) despite the Covid-19 surge shows the “irresponsibility and recklessness” of the federal government.

Commenting on the development in a Twitter thread on Friday, Banky W accused the federal government of being “inconsiderate.”

Much ado about corpse of man allegedly killed by Army

The Police in Benue State on Friday told the Judicial Panel investigating human rights violations by the defunct SARS operatives of Nigeria Police Force that it had no power to release the corpse of one late James Ianna kept under its custody.

Police prosecutor had told the panel sitting in Makurdi that, it lacks the power to release the deceased’s body for burial to its family because a special military squad handed police the corpse for safe keep and was yet to give further directive.

The panel also heard from the police prosecution counsel and O/C legal, F.N Agwu (Esq.) that the corpse currently deposited at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) Makurdi remained the responsibility of the Nigeria Army and not Benue State Police Command.

Woman commits suicide after spreading Covid-19 to her daughter and husband

A Japanese mother who tested positive for the coronavirus has killed herself at her home after she felt sorry for causing trouble for her family, reports say.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was found dead last Friday in her Tokyo apartment where she was self-isolating after contracting Covid-19.

In a note she left behind, the parent wrote that ‘it is inexcusable that I have become a nuisance,’ and blamed herself for her daughter catching the virus.

The Japanese woman lived with her husband and daughter who have both tested positive for the disease, according to local media citing sources.
