Jody “Babydoll” Gibson, who ran a s3x trafficking ring in Hollywood in the 1980s and 1990s, has died.
According to TMZ, Gibson is believed to have died in her sleep on Sunday and foul play is not suspected. Police responded to a call at her home in the desert town Yucca Valley where she was pronounced dead.
Eric Markel, her husband, told the gossip site that Gibson had recently undergone a dramatic weight loss and had dipped below 90 pounds.
He said stress over a pending lawsuit regarding the sale of their home likely played a cause.
Nicknamed “Sasha of the Valley,” prosecutors alleged that Gibson operated one of the biggest “escort agencies” in Los Angeles. She was convicted in 2000 after being charged with pimping and conspiracy and served several years and later wrote a tell-all book, “Secrets of a Hollywood SuperMadam,” in which she reveal the names of her alleged clients.
She also wrote two other books about her life: “Convicted: A True Story” and “Seduced: Diary of a Double Dealing Spy.”
