Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has shared a new photo of his family.

He shared the photo on his Instagram page showing his wife and son posing next to him.

The photo generated a lot of comments as his friends and fans applauded him for taking care of his family.

The 37-year old actor got married to his beautiful wife, Gifty Mawunya Nkornu in May 2018.

May/June 2021 exams unlikely to hold: WAEC

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says its 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates, earlier scheduled for May/June, may not hold.

The Council’s Head of National Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, gave the hint while announcing the release of results of the 2021 first series of the WASSCE for private candidates on Tuesday in Lagos.

According to Mr Areghan, the effect of the coronavirus pandemic is still much felt in the education sector.

He noted that the entire education calendar has been distorted and, therefore, may not be possible to conduct the examination as scheduled.

In the letter filed in Manhattan federal court, prosecutors responded to a claim -- which Maxwell’s lawyers made in February -- that she was abused by a jail guard during a search and forced to clean as a punishment at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

In reality, prosecutors claimed that guards made Maxwell clean her cell because she let it fall into disarray -- letting a stench grow because she often doesn’t flush the toilet after she uses it, prosecutors wrote.

APC caretaker chairman kidnapped in Rivers state

The Rivers State APC has announced the kidnap of Hiasine Wiye, its Caretaker Committee Chairman in Khana LGA.

Wiye was kidnapped at his residence in Khana Local Government area on Sunday night.

The party has called for his unconditional release.

The APC spokesman, Ogbonna Nwuke said Wiye’s kidnap further reinforced the belief that no one is safe in the state.

FG takes delivery of India’s Covishield vaccines

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha said the government has received 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccines from India.

Mr Mustapha, confirmed this on Tuesday at the national briefing by the PTF in Abuja, adding that more vaccines are coming from African Union’s Vaccine Acquisition Task Team (AVATT).

“As you are aware, Nigeria received 3.94 million doses of the Covid-19 Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine on March 2, 2021,” he said.

“These vaccines represented the first tranche of about 16 million doses allocated to Nigeria through the COVAX facility, aimed at vaccinating an initial 20 per cent of the population.

Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, the wife of late Yinka Odumakin, says her husband died on Friday, April 2, 2021, and not Saturday, April 3, 2021, as earlier reported.

Okei-Odumakin, a rights activist, in another tribute to her late husband made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said it was important to immediately put the record straight in the spirit of truth that Odumakin stood for.

The tribute is entitled: “Yinka: Basking in the shadow that you cast”.

The rights activist stressed that due to the principles of truth and saying it as it is, of which her late husband lived for all his adult life, it was important to immediately put the record straight.

Prince Harry, Meghan announce first Netflix series after quitting as royals

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s media programming company, Archewell Productions, has announced its first Netflix docu-series on Tuesday, Heart of Invictus.

The multi-episode series “will follow a group of extraordinary competitors from around the globe, all service members who have suffered life-changing injuries or illnesses on their road to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020, now set to take place in 2022,” reads a statement from Netflix.

Prince Harry is set to appear in the docu-series as well as executive produce the project. Furthermore, he will team up with his patronage, The Invictus Games Foundation Director, Orlando von Einsiedel and producer, Joanna Natasegara, USA Today reports.

The cause is near and dear to Prince Harry’s heart. The Duke of Sussex created the Invictus Games – an international competition in which wounded warriors compete in multiple sports, including wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball – in 2014 to honour and provide a platform for injured servicemen and women.

The Director General of the World Trade Organization, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Omotola Ekeinde, Burna Boy, were among those who made the Forbes Africa’s “100 Innovations, Inventions and Icons from Africa list.”

The globali media company and American business magazine, Forbes also named Chimamanda Adichie, Davido, Wizkid, Olugbenga Agboola, and Mr Eazi, among those that made the list.

Forbes focuses most times on listing and ranking on areas like business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership and marketing.

The magazine on its official Twitter account @Forbesafrica said the recently recognized 100 innovations, inventions and icons across various industries was a way of celebrating the creativity of the African mind.

Eight months pregnant lady wins Taekwondo competition

An eight months pregnant Aminat Idrees has won a gold medal in taekwondo for Team Lagos at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Edo state.

In the Poomsae Taekwondo (demonstration) female team event, the Lagos athlete won silver and also an individual bronze medal in the same category, she also finished first in the mixed event.

In another event, Team Edo won the gold medal of the six-aside cricket while Kwara and Lagos to silver and bronze medals respectively.

Team Lagos also won a silver medal in the female team six-a-side cricket, while their male counterpart won a bronze medal.

Gunmen raze another police station in Imo, free suspects

Gunmen have razed another police station in Imo State few hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Adamu left Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Osinbajo and other officials of the Federal Government, including Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, had visited the state to inspect the level of damage on the burnt security facilities.

But the gunmen burnt Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters shortly after they left.

It was gathered on arrival at the station, the gunmen freed all suspects in detention before setting the Police Divisional headquarters ablaze.

AstraZeneca vaccine: Nigeria probes blood clotting side effects

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) is investigating the blood clotting in some persons who received the first jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Director General, Chikwe Ihekweazu, spoke to the press at the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 briefing.

On Tuesday, the European Medicines Agency announced there’s a causal link between AstraZeneca’s jab and rare blood clots.

Marco Cavaleri, Head of Health Threats and Vaccine Strategy, told Rome’s Il Messaggero newspaper that a definitive statement will be released this week.

He died today after a prolonged illness.

The Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad, announced this on his twitter page.

The President, in a statement by Garba Shehu, his spokesman, also condoled with the government and people of Kaduna State.

Harry Potter star, Paul Ritter dies of brain tumour

British actor and Harry Potter star, Paul Ritter, has died at the age of 54.

His management in a statement released on Tuesday said he died of a brain tumour at home, surrounded by his wife and two sons.

“It is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night.

“He died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour.

Jeff Bezos tops Forbes' record-setting billionaire list for 4th consecutive year

Forbes' annual world's billionaires list includes a record-breaking 2,755 billionaires, with Amazon.com Inc founder Jeff Bezos topping it for the fourth consecutive year, the media company said on Tuesday.

The ranks of the ultra-wealthy are expanding after a year in which the coronavirus pandemic upended world economies and threatened the livelihoods of people across the globe.

This year's billionaires are worth a combined $13.1 trillion, up from $8 trillion last year, Forbes said.

"The very, very rich got very, very richer," said Forbes' Chief Content Officer Randall Lane, in an interview with Reuters Video News.

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk jumped into second spot on the list, up from 31st last year.

Trump caught with secret bottle of Coke after insisting he was boycotting brand

Donald Trump was pictured drinking his beloved Diet Coke despite calling on supporters to boycott the brand over Georgia voting rights.

The ex-president was spotted with a bottle of his favourite soda sitting on his Mar-a-Lago desk in a tweet posted by his former adviser Stephen Miller.

It came just days after Mr Trump called for a boycott of Major League Baseball, Coke and Delta Airlines, who have all protested the new restrictive voting rights law in the state.

The new law, recently signed by Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp, includes new identification requirements for absentee ballots, limits the use of drop boxes and criminalises giving voters water or food as they wait in line.

It has been harshly criticised by Joe Biden and resulted in a string of lawsuits from civil rights groups.

He shared photos and video of him surprising his wife Kani, with the Range Rover, as her birthday present. She turned a year older last week.

According to Adewale, the SUV gift doesn't compare to the gift she gave to him three months ago, their daughter.

Forbes officially declares Kim Kardashian a billionaire

American Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian has been officially declared a billionaire by Forbes magazine.

The rating blog made the pronouncement on Tuesday, saying the media personality now has a net worth of $1 billion — an increase from $780 million in October last year.

“When Kim Kardashian West was first mentioned in the pages of Forbes in 2011, it was simply a tally of her Twitter followers: 6.6 million, just below Barack Obama and just above Ashton Kutcher. Five years later, she graced the cover of Forbes thanks to her booming mobile game, which helped her earn $51 million that year. Now, she officially joins the World’s Billionaires list for the first time,” Forbes says in a blog.

Breaking: Buhari terminates IGP Adamu’s appointment, replaces him with Alkali Baba

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment of DIG Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector General of police.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi made this known to State House correspondents on Tuesday.

Usman Alkali Baba replaces Mohammed Abubakar Adamu whose tenure was recently extended.

Recall that Buhari had on the 4th of February, extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police for three months.
